Another Retro :D

This is probably similar thing to the cefiro city light thing.
So instead of having the Projector/headlights on, the 194 bulbs lights up, and gives the head lamp a small accent.
But looking at the placement of where he drilled the hole for it, it looks like it's supposed to light up only the back ground of the projectors, from behind the bezel. So you'll only see light coming from around the bezel. Kind of similar to the looks of the BMW halo ring, but I don't know how this will look.

Good to hear, Andrew. My copy-cat setup based off yours held up to the abuse of a whole Northeast winter just fine and I STILL get compliments on them! I think you may have convinced me to upgrade to 50w or 55w ballasts, though Do I need to swap out capsules to do that, or will the ones I have now handle it?

well, from what i heard, you can use the same capsules, but i think it wil;l shorten their life. but i mean depending on capsules. oO
i never used a 55 watt kit on my car yet, even though i sell em, i'm scared to use them. i don't wanna "damage" my projector mod.
and why is it that i cannot resize the image? oO

Ideally you'd use DL50 fatboys, but they're pretty pricey. 85122 should hold up okay to the extra power - you'll reduce lifespan somewhat, but still much better than halogen. Avoid kit bulbs like the plague, if you don't want to have to re-chrome your projectors in a few months

Tat- you can use virtually any 50 watt ballasts out there. Make sure you use an OEM spec bulb though since they will handle the heat and not ruin your projectors. Like Nalc said... There is no such thing as a real 50 watt kit bulb. They are way too inefficient (more heat and less lumens).

You have to understand, it's been like a competition among a few of us in the community for three or four years now. How do you think the dual projector setups were pioneered? Someone wanting to out-do someone else

Thanks for the input. I'm going to upgrade the whole shebang later this summer when I get some other stuff out of the way. I'll grab some good capsules as part of the upgrade - no need to ruin a good set of FX's

As far as I know, Im still the only one with dual projectors in an OEM housing....

If looks didnt matter, then why even retro, you could just mount multiple sets of fogs or even place projectors in the fog openings and etc.

How did I "cheat"?
Im running HIDs in them now just as you did with your halogen projectors. Although with mine being so small, no need to create a new sheild for them. Also fitting them was still very tricky. As far as I know,no one has actually has done a retro like mine consisting of hacking off the complete rears and creating a whole new back housing for their headlights. Everyone simply opens up a hole for the projector to fit through and drills mounting holes.
To me, using R34s is cheating, since the sections are already seperated and you just need to open the backs for a projector to fit into...
