There are tons of OBDII to USB interfaces on ebay, however most of them are these cheapo Hong Kong jobs:
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/New-ELM327-USB-Scan-Tool-CAN-Bus-OBD2-OBD-II-Interface_W0QQitemZ150302592367QQcmdZViewItem?hash =item150302592367&_trkparms=39%3A1|65%3A1|240%3A13 18&_trksid=p4506.c0.m245
In theory, if it really does have the ELM 327 it should be compatible and work with OBD softwares such as:
http://www.scantool.net/?mode=displa...y=ScanTool.net
and
http://www.obd2crazy.com/software.html
I don't know, everything sounds like it should work, but I am a bit weary. Also, these are the protocols it supports:
SAE J1850 PWM (41.6 kbaud)
SAE J1850 VPW (10.4 kbaud)
ISO 9141-2 (5 baud init, 10.4 kbaud)ISO 14230-4 KWP (5 baud init, 10.4 kbaud)ISO 14230-4 KWP (fast init, 10.4 kbaud)ISO 15765-4 CAN (11 bit ID, 500 kbaud)ISO 15765-4 CAN (29 bit ID, 500 kbaud)ISO 15765-4 CAN (11 bit ID, 250 kbaud)ISO 15765-4 CAN (29 bit ID, 250 kbaud)
What OBD protocol does the 97 Maxima have?
Thanks guys.
