Yeah, it seems like you're into that stuff...with all your PWM talk. haha sorry, we've been doing LED products at work lately and you sound like the EE's I work with. That's all.
Your sis told me you're going for CE right?
Yeah I was thinking about CE, but EE sounds interesting.
I've been doing some research on what to major, but I have narrowed it down to CE and EE. I just hate sin cos waves and such when it comes to engineering. Besides that I love math.

ill be graduating soon with a BS in CE. from what i can see, CE's are in high demand as of now. heard it will be like that for a couple of years. what exactly are you trying to emphasis on, since CE is such a broad major. I myself am trying to get into steel structure.
I though CE was a major for me cause I like thinking about how structures and things all work, plus I've built multiple tree houses when I was younger. On top of that most of my friends are architecture majors so I was always watching them build models and test structures with their projects.
Then I though EE was a good major cause I do a lot of circuitry at home and always making new outlets and putting new breakers in and such. Then I also did my headlights, and right now I'm LEDing my taillights as well, which requires some knowledge about circuitry. I also know a decent amount of people who are electricians and I have watched them do electrical work, which got my interested in EE major.
Being 20 sucks, cause I like thinking about both majors and how they are both something I would like to do, but I only can major in CE or EE and stick with it.
So how about those headlights.
Went a little off topic here but an interesting topic.

Maybe if you put the LEDs on another part of the front end and not the headlights but it looks kind of funky with the rectangle headlights.
Someone with a 6th gen did it under the headlights on the front bumper and it looked pretty neat.

I will take pictures from a distance when I'm back in the states.
As of now I can take pictures of cefiro and skylines if you want me to..... but I have other things to do before I do that.

on a 6th gen it might flow since it does have a more recent design....
on a 4th gen.... i dont think so.

The Write up follows that AE mod, and making LED interior lights.
Combine both of those to make this.
Basically you need to know how to take apart your headlights without breaking your headlights. Then you have to make templates that follow the contours of the inside of the headlights and make that out of what ever soft material you have, I used paper. Then copy that template on to PCB boards, after that do some test fit and make sure it fits when you seal up your headlights.
after that follow the instructions on how to make interior LED lights.
It's very simple.
Ok so im like 3 months late I appologize lol. I definetly am impressed with your set up!!
I would like to see some day shots so I can see a little better of how its layed out and wired.
I had this same thought in mind but went a different route. I installed the LED's on the chrome reflector instead of a straight strip on the glass. I mist say though that with the LED's shining off the reflector it looks like dimm headlights. Tell me what you think..

Your setup is kind of weird in my opinion, but pretty creative. Your setup kind of reminds me of how the cefiro has those city lights inside of their headlights.
My layout is pretty simple. I don't know if you went from the first post all the way to the last, but I have some pictures showing how the boards were made.
I'll get more pictures of this setup along with some day time pictures for those of you looking for more pictures. But all of you guys have to wait cause I'm out of the country.
I'm not completely done with my headlights. I'm planning on retrofitting some projectors in and probably make a reflective shield for the LEDs so the LED light doesn't reflect off of the chrome inside the housing.

Of course I read from the first post, im insulted lol, but I was looking for more pictures where and how it was mounted inside the lense.
I definetly like the look of your lights over mine. The only thing I appreciate about my set up is that the LED's are mostly hidden during the day, but your night time look is much better. +1
No rush on the pics either, enjoy your vacation!
i think its sick but i think if they were amber instead of blue it would look 10x better

Sooo, when the angel eye mod popped up everyone screamed rice and stated angel eyes only look good on BMWs.
Now with this, everyone is saying they look good?
They look just as ricey as the angel eyes to me. Random leds inserted into the headlights just dont look good to me on the 4th gens headlights. They dont flow well.

+1 like what you said..doesn't seem to flow with the 4th gens..maybe led bumper light mod will look good..anyone done any?

Have to agree with Flava on this one. None of the pictures posted off these setups looks good IMO. The blue leds are too ricey (I know you said they are hyper white but those hyperwhite leds really produce a blue tint when they are lower level leds. I would look into soft white leds. Need to find a good source but you can find some online).
The lines don't seem straight and are too spaced out. I like the Z pics posted. I think they look real nice. Seem to get the least response but I thought they looked the best overall. I've seen that project before too I believe.
Darklegend, why did you go with a pwm? They are just running lights correct? If you wanted them dimmer just using different resistors would work. Would have saved trouble since the pwm is usually used for dimming the leds when you're going to run two voltages to the leds. Extra wiring that doesn't need to be there IMO.

I used a PWM cause I can adjust to my liking. They are not just running lights, I can turn them off I if I wanted to. This was a small project for me to see how LED lighting are and how PWM works. Seeing a diagram is great, but hands on is better. PWM is not necessary used for application of two voltages. It is also known as a DC motor speed controller, means you can control the out put of a single DC power signal with this unit.

yea i know what the pwm is for. But i meant with leds you usually use the pwm to control the brightness when you have them running lower for parking lights, so a brake wire will make the leds brighter. By the running lights I meant that they are only signal purpose. They don't change brightness or anything. They are on or off. I just meant that resistors would be easier than wiring up the pwm. I agree hands on is better. Just finished wiring a sequential signal circuit for new led tails and building was much more helpful then starring at schematics.

I have them wired to my acc, so they are constantly on, but once in a blue moon I don't want them on or want them dim for some odd reasons, I can do that with the PWM.
By the way I'm still trying to figure out the LED brake light thing. How to wire the running lights with the brake lights. I'm going to be using the PWM to wire the running lights, but to wire the brake lights to that....big question mark.

well it depends what kind you're using. There are a few ways to do it. Want kind of pwm are you using?
