well theres a big difference between the flex moulding from the flooring dept. and the garage door seal(which is rubber not foam by the way), i know because im a dept supervisor at Home Depot. i tried the luda lip with the moulding but didnt like it. maybe ill try this.

Yeah, this is a better alternative to a stillen lip. I was talking this over with Roggeezy and I think it would only serve as a great looking lip on the 97-99's. The 97-99's bumper is different from the 95-96's. I have a 95 and I tried picturing it and I dont think it would look good on my car. I might try it though just to see. It is cheap...

Plus, it would make a great addition to the stillen lip. Make it more aggressive looking.

im gonna do this

a stillen/ionic lip isnt practical for me since my driveway is really steep and if im not careful i already scrape.

ill post pics of this on a 96 bumper maybe later today.

...then ill take the stillen approach: make precut strips and include double sided tape and sell to people for $300

A 95/6 front bumper is flat all the way across so it might look decent all the way across like on the G. Ill try it just to see...I like trying different stuff out.

honestly i think some of you guys need to be happy with a stock(ish) car. theres way too much "cost effective" modding going on. pretty soon all you're gonna see is stock 4th gens with painted wheels/grills/etc., diy tinted lights everywhere, rubber molding body kits, and led interiors.

i'm all for diy but most stuff that the general public can actually do themselves are supposed to be details added onto a well built car, not a car built around diy details.
If it looks good and its cheap why not? People on the street dont know you only paid 9 bucks for it...

People do custom stuff all the time and its usually taken with praise but because this is cheap its gonna be hated on even if it does look good.

example:
flava's car. not at all my style but when you look at it you see a well executed car with a theme.

then you look at almost every other black/white car with rattle can black *, smoked ebay bumper lights, and/or unpainted lip kits.

same look, even some of the same parts/mods, very different execution.

personally if i couldn't afford it i would spend that time detailing my car/doing maintainance instead of doing half-assed mods. you'd be doing more for the appearance as well as prolonging the life and maintaining the value of your car.

you don't have to rock altezzas to be .
That is very true....however I still think there can be a tasteful execution of cheap mods. So far, I have Home Depoted and rattle canned the **** out of my car. You guys tell me if it is ricey:

So far, not a single appearance mod I have done to the car (except for the drop) has been anything more than a quick trip to home depot to get things such as spraypaint or flourescent lense cover or 2000 grit sand paper.

Yep, painted grill, painted headlights, slightly smoked turn signals in the back and flourescent light cover. Honestly, I hate ricers, I think I have tastefully executed cost effective mods to my car and don't think it looks ricey at all, but you guys be the judge.

In the beginning of this thread there was some knocking on it being repetitive, but I really disagree, this is a completely different story than the ludalip, and honestly I think this looks a helluva lot better. Now...I am not sure if I am going to do it to my Maxima, but I think its a great idea nevertheless and looks tasteful compared with the luda lip.

And frankly, the luda lip isn't TOO TOO BAD, HOWEVER it reminds me of gross decripid brown sh!tsmeared rubber base board in a public bathroom of a 45 year old building..... lol

Understandable. Some people dont know or see the boundaries to execute things when they are diy. It becomes Monkey see, Monkey do. But not everyone is like that and to each his own of course. I see it where I live all the time. Nothing we can do to fix it, just be thankful its not us rolling around in that, I have anything out on my car, person.

I think it looks good on that car. I think color scheme makes a difference too. My bumper and color/scheme I think it would look like an after thought.

I think this is something a lot of people miss, you can't do every mod that comes out to any car. Stick to your theme, do you race, then race style and them unless you're a sleeper. If you are ballin, the ball it. There are certain things I would not do to my car just because it wouldn't go. The only thing tinted on my car is the windows

Another excellent point. All else fails, clean the car One 6thgen fella lost his job but had $250 and wanted to know what mod he should buy. I told him save his money and buy some gas.

So since the 97-99 isnt flat across the bottom, there isn't a way to have it continuous across the whole thing?

That looks pretty good to me!

I might consider just trying it out on my car, but the front is so low I might scrape it off getting into my driveway lol

ya it wasnt completely flat, but its flatter than 97-99. it worked tho. the only part that looks weird is around the curves. pulling it around the curves causes the 'lip' to point down instead of out.

It looks good on the 97-99 bumper but the 96 still looks stock.

anyways, i think the rubber lip looks better than nothing. obviously a stillen lip is a lot better. but a stillen lip isnt practical cause i already have to be really slow getting in my driveway since its so steep.

its not like i really care tho. its was only $10 and if i end up not liking it...oh well. i know everyone will hate but i did it mostly just to post up the pics instead of just give a worthless opinion.

and btw, 97-99 fronts arent much better than 95/6's

if you just added the "you suck at life" to the first one, it'd be almost your example.

here is my attempt, its dirty in the pic, but with some ghetto tireshine it looks like a solid plastic piece. I still have it on the car and don't mind it at all, gives the car a lower look which is what i was going for instead of lowering it even more.

ps, yes thats a lip on a lip
