is there any other way to get the disc off w/o using the "clutch disc removal tool"??????? i'm afraid to pry too much on the disc. can't pull the pulley w/o the disc off 1st.

have fun with that.. i had to do mine and make a tool for it.... autozone doesnt sell/rent nothing for it..
basically to make it easy on urself get a new clutch disk yea its expensive but whats gonna happen when u remove the old one is its gonna get all bent up.. and the same noise is gonna come back and piss you off...
well .... I knew someone had to have been where I am now at one point or another! lol I'll look into the new clutch disk then ... and go at the other with a screw driver or hammer .... or m80 or somethin! sucks ... but I guess it's part of it.
Thanks!

Haven't actually looked at my compressor in a long time, but according to the FSM the SST just attaches by three holes in the clutch disk. Any chance you could get a three jaw puller with tiny jaws in there to get it off? Hell, I'd just custom fab one up (as f550maranello2 did).
I'm a seety artist ... but this may explain it better. The disk sits inside the pulley and there's maybe a 1/16th of an inch to get any tool in there. Can't pry too hard on the disk, cause it's 2 pieces (inner and outter). Can't just pull the pulley off, snap ring behind the clutch disk and no way to pry against the center bolt (no room for the center to hit to pull the bearing)

you've removed the small center nut on the disc, yes?
with that removed the disc should just pretty much fall off or come off with just a little help. mine just came off by hand.
there's really no mounting or attachment of the disc to the pulley other than by the center nut.
you will need a clutch holding tool to the keep the clutch assembly from spinning while you loosen the center nut but the disc itself should come right off.
also, related to your other post RE: an new clutch disc, pulley and whatever, PM me... i'm not sure what you're needing and wanting to do. i'm working on my system right now and am really not having any problems tearing it apart.
