I was using a MoTec M800 ECU in my other Pulsar(similiar to a B13 Sentra) before I ended up swapping back to a Bikirom board. I did however use an S15 200SX SR20DET ECU with a Bikirom board so that I could have multiple coils and a newer spec computer which uses a faster processor. The Motec M800 ended up in my kit car.
I'm not sure I follow this. The V4 software is available on the site but the board isn't out yet? No version information is referenced when talking about the board itself.

I am really a Nissan boy at heart but the ute is my work car. Need to tow my tools and materials around somehow . Has 5psi available by 1600rpm and is only limited by the stock pistons/rods at the moment.

V4 software is available as it is backwards compatible but the latest generation boards are due out soon.

Biki is able to control the R34 Skyline RB25DET ECU, so it may be possble to modify later model VQ30 ECU's in the future.

Also, I know that the 350Z ECU can be flash tuned these days so I imagine the VQ35 Maxima is not far away.

215 WHP? I understand the limitations of a VQ30 ECU on a VQ35 but that still sounds kind of weak to me. What VQ35 was this? (i.e. what year, FWD/RWD, etc.).

I would first be interested in the specifics / mechanics of a 'Mainline dyno with extractors'.

extractors = headers

Mainline is a brand of dyno.

I’m sure you know what my point was: Dynojet dyno does not equal Mustang dyno and Mainline dyno does not equal(mechanics and applications here, or does it?) any of the prior 2. Granted I was not smart enough to know what extractors meant…but you get my point. Me =

Our dynos always seem to read lower than American dynos. We have around 25% drivetrain loss factored in... however, I usually joke that it is the fact were are 'down under' and as we are practically falling off the earth, it means our tyres do not hug the rollers as much

It was supposed to read Mainline Dyno, with extractors but I missed the comma Sorry for the confusion. Extractors is an Aussie term for Headers

I have not had a chance to play with this lately, the actual physics of getting a V6 into a GTiR rally car is much more daunting than I thought.

We are having a dyno contest locally here in 2 weekends, so I will endeavour to get things moving a bit quicker.

The second Australian spec ECU did not like the board, so looks like USDM ECU's are the go. Have another 3 boards arriving this week hopefully via USPS.

Should have V4 out shortly and hopefully, will include a known good VQ30 base map in the software

Also, for anyone interested in my Twin Turbo V8... pics

So you got it fully functioning on a USDM ECU? What years? I assume the 95-96 ECU

Correct

The second Australian spec ECU had a loose solder connection so is now functional. Confident that the latest boards upon release will give good results and give more access to the stock ECU features + access the daughterboard features.

I am currently tuning a VQ30 ECU for boosting a VQ35 6psi is plenty and dislocated thumbs from torque steer is easy. 11.7:1 AFRs under full power and a safe amount timing = a lazy 400+FtLbs of flywheel torque from 3000rpm to rev limiter.

Will have pictures after this weekend of the finished setup and my cleaned up wiring harness

Post a picture of the inside of the ECU case and I can tell you if it will work or not. I doubt it based on JWT not being able to do them for that year ECU but I would be interested to see if it can be done our way.

I am also looking at VG30 ECU's as a possible alternate source for those not requiring full OBDII functionality as well.

My supplier needs to get enough stock of the daughterboards before we can progress further. I am still waiting on my V4 board so I can test out the new features.

I am currently trying to track down as many of the Maxima ECU's listed in this catalogue to confirm that all ECU's with those Maxima part numbers will work. If that happens, then I wil buy a few of those ECU part numbers and use them as guinea pigs, then offer them for sale for those wishing to upgrade and keep their original ECU.

I have 3 boards fully functional operating without VCT, to suit VQ30 with a base tune to suit basic breathing modifications. I am testing them all in three VQ30 Maxima's over the next few days to confirm they work and also gauge what power gains can be expected from the VQ30. If I am happy with the results(which looks promising so far!) these will be available for those who have been waiting on a VQ30 tuning solution and will happily assist with individual customised tuning to suit the specific application as required.

I will be going through this thread and listing those who have expressed an interest, then contacting them.

VQ35 specific tuning solutions look to be ready before the end of September.

Regards,
Matt

Clarrification

Good updates!
I have a few questions to ask.
1) Would this system be able to activate the 00 Variable Intake Manifold?
2) Would you use a wideband for tuning or is the system capable to read A/F ratio accurately?
Keep us posted.
Cheers!

Yes, the Variable Intake Manifold can be activated using on of the on/off outputs. Been using these outputs to switch the VVL solenoids on SR20VE engines for a few months.

Once you have your K value, load scale and MAF values calibrated correctly it is possible to tune without needing a AFR gauge. I would of course have it checked on a dyno atleast once to confirm the calibrations are correct. Playing with the ignition timing tables is a little more complex.

This is one reason why I want to get atleast a tuned base file setup so that optimal 'best mean torque' ignition tables are ready to go I also can set the idle speed, cold start ignition advance and cold start fuel enrichment as well

I can't believe that I haven't seen this yet. This is awesome!

I'm going to be using a 95-96 maxima ecu to run my vq30det s13. I was planning on using an emu for tuning, but I'd much rather use this. Please pm me with pricing.

1996 VQ30 Maxima with headers, 2.5" exhaust and a HKS airfilter gained 9% on the dyno at peak power with just a tune. However, the midrange torque and power saw gains of up to 15%!! Our dynos read slightly different(lower readings) but expect similiar modifications to make a similiar percentage jump in power.

Also, my Pulsar reeled off a 13.45@121.3MPH. It may sound slow but the MPH shows just how much wheelspin the car had with a 2.6s 60ft time

Blackmamba: Not sure how compatible it will be with a US Market 99 Maxima but looking into it!! At the most, only the OBDII functionality should be lost.
