I had 215,000 on my nitrous Max and I have 230,000 on my Turbo Max. I had to replace the injectors, coils, starter, alternator, fuel pump, thats all normal for high miles....

I have owned german, american, and a honda. All of the previous cars have had under 100,000 miles and I have had less issues with my Maximas. I also had a 3rd gen that was totaled... But Maxima's are solid cars...

how do you no when u have to replace the injectors? probably a dumb question but oh well!

97' gle, 160,xxx, had since 157,xxx

as of now: replaced front passenger axle(inner and outer boot ripped)
front passenger bearing
rear passenger brake hose
spark plugs
front driver caliper slides

still needs: KS
2 front rotars
front passenger caliper slides
front passenger abs sensor(result of bearing replacement)
egr solenoid valve (p1005)
might need a new rack, but not 100% sure.
theres a leak somewhere around the ps pump but im not losing ps fluid or motor oil. so im stumped there too.
like i recommended in the above post, seafoam.
oh and the horrible side swipe compliments of my dad
and a hood strut

my dad had it since 50,000 miles in 1999 and since then i know he replaced the alternator and the starter 2 or 3 times, im not sure, and he replaced the rack and pinion once

I have 289,000 miles on a 1996 SE 5 speed. It burns oil so I never have to change it, just put more in. Sometimes I run the oil low. OK I run the oil low more often than I like to, but it can take it.

I replaced the Radiator, Clutch, and Oxygen Sensors. I need some struts for the hood, which is peeling, I think its the clearcoat. The rear window doesn't roll up or down so I have to wedge something in the sill to keep it up (I tried duck tape, but ended up streaking glue on the window, which is still there). The radio doesn't store stations anymore so every time after I start the engine I have to re-enter presets, and the antenna doesn't retract.

This car can take a licking and keep on ticking.

I really have fun with this car. I don't have to worry about shopping carts or thieves.

Truly, I appreciate that this car is unbelievably reliable, and the builders (Nissan) get my respect.

It is a great car but you should fix that oil burning. Could be something very easy and inexpensive.

216000 I love my 1998 Maxima I have replaced both O2 Sensors, of course breaks, calipers, cv joints. Oh and I also have a problem with the check engine light communicating with the engine to shut of the engine light which was caused by the O2 sensor. If anyone can help me there I would appreciate it.

Not mine...but.

My mom's car is a 91 - has 283,XXX on it. Still is a very solid car. I just purchased an '08 - I have 754 miles on it - no problems.

My mom's car has had injectors replaced, a transmission at 200K. Other things I missing for sure. She still has the original exchaust.

1997 GLE, purchased new, 130,000 miles
Radio went out at 100,000. Replaced it with Alpine with XM. Never has sounded as good as the original. Kept the speakers.
When should I replace shocks?
Rear seat leather that is exposed to window sun is getting dry. Need better treatment for the leather.
Worst mileage around town is 22 MPG
Best mileage on the highway is 32 MPG
I fill it with Premium gas
New transaxles at 120,000
I avoid Nissan dealerships for service
Also have a 2003 Suburban with 120,000 and 2004 CRV with 28,000

On my 93 SE (being retired this weekend as a matter of fact) 283,000 miles. Bought it in 99 with 114k.

Left Axle
Fuel pump...three times
Alternator rebuilt
Starter
Power steering rack
Slave Cylinder (twice)
Dry rotted fuel line
Clutch (pretty sure it was OEM, done at 230k)
Its got valve seal smoke and lifter noise right now.

Love the car, going to be hard to part with it. Its had its share of nickle and dime problems, but still, it never let me down when it counted.

390,000KM = 242,000 Miles

No huge issues, I still get 8l/100km on the highway = 35MPG!

My 1998 I30T had a ton of ****, 145k, but it runs amazing now...

1. CV Joints (they were clicking when I made turns, got a lifetime warrenty on them)

2. Radiator (it cracked so I replaced it with a high performance 100% aluminum radiator)

3. Thermostat (it was somewhat clogged, but it was the original, so I replaced it when I put in the new radiator)

4. Starter (it usually took 2 or 3 trys to get the damn thing to start, and it made a horrible noise when I start it in the morning)

5. Alternater (it plain old died, replaced it with a little more powerful one)

6. A/C Compressor (it died and made my belt squeek, I didnt even replace it, I took the whole A/C system out and put a smaller belt on the pulleys, very happy without A/C!)

7. Brake Pads & Rotors (brakes started grinding against the rotors, evenutally one brake pad actually fell off in pieces)

8. Lower Radiator Support Beam (very very very rusty and falling apart, the only thing I didnt replace yet)

9. Re-painted the Hood (it was keyed badly)
