Is a 97-99 rear conversion possible on a 95-96?

I heard the outer tails are interchangible.... so if one was to get a 97-99 trunk lid with the tails, would it work? But again, the outer tails won't fit that well, because the corners are curved, right?
enlighten me please

yeap, it is possible, the outside tail lights are the same shape, and if you replace the trunk then you can yse the 97-99 tail lights, it's definatly possible, goodluck

I just recently got into an accident, and had to get a new hood, bumper, headlight, and corner light. I could have ordered the 97 style grille, but I kept with the 95-96. I just like it better. That is, except for the cheepness of the bumper, and the foglights having less tecture than 97+.

well

How do you get a whole new trunk? Do you guys mean just the lid? Or do you need a new bumper and rear fenders? Because aren't the rear fenders part of the entire frame/body? You can't just swap them out. the corners of the fenders above the tailights are also curved so if you put in the straight 97-99 tails on it wouldn't that look weird? I'd really like to see some pics of this conversion. I think the 97-99 a$$ looks way better, the same goes for the front end. One of the reasons I got a 97+ was the looks.

Andy, I'm just asking for reference, relax buddy

what I'm understanding you want different lights, then all you need is to get a different trunk lid, that's it, and you're golden

you can also replace the bumper, we have members who have done that already and they say it's a plug'n play thing, really easy, you can just change the bumpers by themselfs

all depends on what u want to do

It is very hard to tell between 95-96 bumpers and 97-99 bumpers but being that I have been searching for months I just noticed whether the seller knows the year or not I noticed the 95-96 bumpers license plate has to square cut outs and the 97-99 does not and also has a 4 inch line going through.

97-99 no cutouts with line

95-96 square cut outs

This is for stickies addition

Did you look at the date before you posted at all?

He didn't ask a question, he's adding to the info...

Nothing wrong with that IMO, better than posting a whole new thread about it.

the lights are different, the inner tails are different from 95-96 and 97-99. u have to do a trunk lid swap, a mod. would be too much trouble

not really, thats why you put a 97-99 trunk lid and all your problems are solved...the lights will line up perfectly
