so i think one of my cylinders is misfiring. i wanted to test the coil packs to see if they were the culprit or the plugs.

if i were to test each one for a change in engine noise/spped, do i physically pull up the coil from the socket or do i disconnect the electrical connector? i do this while the engine is running right?

this should help you out, i used this information to solve my misfire which was caused by a bad fuel injector

ok so i got the 0607 code now which says cylinder 2 misfire.

what can cause this? the spark plugs or coil packs right? anything else i should be aware of?

i am able to swap around the individual coil to different cylinders without doin any harm?

i would ohm out the coils, no swapping. check fuel injector too, lastly check plugs

hm what seems to be bad about swapping coil packs around to test?
you and other instructions online say not to do so (the rear ones, at least). aren't they exactly the same thing?

Front and rear coils are different. But I don't see why you shouldn't change coils in the same bank. Beside coils itself, other possible causes for a missfire could be: a bad fuel injector, intake air leak, insuficient compression.
