Yup, on the highway my car will just jerk all of a sudden and i'm like wtf ? Also damn does my steering wheel vibrate like mad! Maybe that bald back tire is doin it

Just be careful when racing. Although it looks pretty cool to see a max torque steer when changing. Remindes me about this race against a 2.0 turbo rwd skyline vs holden commodore 5.0V8 in the wet. GOOD FUN

I thought "torque steer" was when your on the highway at high speeds, and you get that floaty steering and the wheels seem to move slightly left/right by themselves ! THAT makes me feel unsafe.

Or have I? Describe this torque steer process a bit. Vibration at the wheel I've had, and solved with an alignment.

Actually torque steers is when you really jam the gas in a low gear, and the wheel sorta jams to one side and you have to fight to get it back while on the gas.

Floaty steering at highway speeds: ideas?

At speeds of 60mph or higher (highway travel), it feels like my steering is very 'light.' The car doesn't seem 100% stable to me, like I'm driving through a slight crosswind. Occasionally, I feel almost-imperceptible feedback through the steering wheel, like a wheel is moving slightly on its own. Like my wheels are slightly loose, and 1 or a couple will move slightly causing my maxima to very lightly jerk to one side. It's a lil' freaky. Can any of you help me out ??

Torque steer occurs in FWD cars with tons of torque.

It occurs when you accelerate hard. The reason it occurs is because torque force is being applied to the front axle, however the front wheels can also turn left and right (to steer) therefore the two forces kinda *fight* and the massive torque causes the steering to move. That's why you have to fight with the wheel. Advanced suspension geometry like unequal length shafts <I think DBM or Jeff92Se can elaborate on that> can suppress torque steer, but not totally eliminate it.

I just always blamed the drift after a low RPM throttle abusing on myself. I thought the sudden drift was normal to front wheel drive. Which it is, kinda, but I always like it when it happens because it is normal to me, and I almost anticipate it, but the passengers get shook.
