It shouldnt matter as long as the filter fits well.

You can check at like wal mart or checkers or whatever, they have the books.

If its wrong, just replace it with the correct one and make sure you have enough oil in there.

VQ35 filter is a little shorter than the VQ30. It will not affect your car. I have used both. No worries mate.
Maxima (A32B) calls for a 15208-9e000 which is VQ30DE.

Your fine, just because it lists only one part number doesnt mean there are not other filters that can be used; I have a Honda filter on my car right now.

IIRC you could have used a 300zx Oil filter as well.

I think your thinking about the Fuel Filter, but you could be right with the Oil filter as well

heh, ya, Honda has two oil filters, one for the S2k and one for everything else. I dont know what, if anything about the Honda filters is better than Nissan ones, but at the time I got them for $2 from my friend. I have yet to open one up or do any research into them.

Probably a re-post. But for those that haven't seen this it's an interesting read if nothing else. And I know there are as many opinions on oil filters as there are on oil and other consumables. And yes I know the link references MCs.

Ur good, it sound liek u already have the right filter. The vq35 oil filters were made for the next generation maxima's with the bigger 3.5 liter motor. If the filter fits, ur good!
