torn steering rack boot

torn steering rack boot
Well, it seems like i've been replacing all of my steering/suspension components one at a time on a monthly basis now. I've discovered that the driver's side steering rack boot (that covers the inner tie-rod) tore and has spilled all of it's grease onto the swaybar bushing. I'm pretty sure that i've been riding like that for a week now. I'm guessing that it wouldn't make sense to just do the boot because the inner tie-rod is about to self-desctruct and the amount of work involed in getting the boot on there, i might as well complete ALL of my suspension/steering work and just do the all the inner/outer tie rods along with new boots and steering rack bushings.

Sorry, the first post was kinda like me thinking out loud
So in order to just replace the boot, the outer tie-rod needs to come out, but the inner stays on as far as i know.
But in theory, if i've been driving with a torn boot for over a week, then it's better to just replace both tie-rods with the amount of work involved in just doing the boot, right?

Helooooo, I just had my inner & outer tie-rods replaced on Saturday!. I must say that it's the most worthwhile thing that you can do to tighten up/smoothen your steering and increase steering response. I also had them change the steering rack bushings as well. No more shimmy or looseness in the stering wheel, yay!!!!
OH, and shiny new boots too
