Maxima Smuggling Compartment (WITH PICTURES)

So I was doing some work on my car last night, and I went underneath my trunk to look for a good place to run a wire. I found this, and was wondering what the heck it was?

Do all fourth Gen's have this, or was the previous owner of my car smuggling stuff across the border?

shown here

just behind this panel

Let me know

Andrei...brate...that was an unnecessary flame lol. Take it easy on the guy.

That's the EVAP system as stated above. Everything 4th gen looks like that in that area.

Just to specify I'm referring to the hollow box circled in yellow...

andrei333: funny, but we all know the real hp comes from yellow stickers, its 5hp per inch of yellow stickers on your car, 10hp if it has Japanese lettering

Looks like just body paneling support? Never investigate back there often.

I removed the little rubber flap in that box, hope that's not important...I did this about a year ago...no problems. It rattled to much

Yes, it's on every 4th gen, it's just some sort of drainage or vent for the trunk. Seen the same thing on a few older Accords, never really cared to find out why its there.
