feeler thread... (pics included..looong thread, sorry)
so as the time comes closer and closer for my and the max to part ways i just wanted you guys to let me know what you think about it and see if my price and everything seems reasonable. so here are some details and some pics:
I obstained this car stock from and auction about 2 1/2 years ago and it is still ultimatly stock besides head unit and subwoofers (which will be taken out). Stock Bose Head unit will be put back in. Car is and automatic which had the trans rebuilt at about 120K miles. Car now has ~140K on it. just replaced spark plugs and air filter yesterday (6/19/07) and performed the most recent oil change about 600 miles ago (next one due at around 142,500). changed fuel filter at about 115-120K. oil changes have been done regularly every 3000-4000 interval using castrol gtx 5w30. everything this car has ever needed mechanically has been done. i have replaced the struts with kyb gr-2's, the starter, the coilpacks, passanger side inner tie rod, cv joints, passanger side strut mount, rebult transmission(which i already said), i know theres more work ive put into it, but i cant think of it right now(shouldnt really matter for sale that much anyway). car has 20% tint all around with sun strip on the top of the windshield. Leather, bose, power windows, power locks, remote keyless entry, power sunroof, SE limited.
now for the negatives: has some body damage which you can see from the pics below(i also will explain it below the picture). i did not get pictures of the trunk/3rd brake light, but the spoiler snapped off and i opted to go spoiler-less and fill the holes and paint it. looks pretty good. also, due to the 3rd brake light being on the spoiler, i purchase a brake light of and max.org member (chillin18 if i remember correctly? thanks btw). i rigged it up inside the back window and in my opinion its pretty good. Also, will need one new tire (bfg traction t/a speed rating T, not H. size 215/55/16) which costs about $100 from town fair or about $105 from NTB. just put two new ones on, and the other one was replaces about 4000miles ago due to a punctured sidewall.
onto the pics/body damage:
click the picture to see the slide show (had to do it so all 7 pictures would fit)...but heres the descriptions of the body damage:
1)scraped a wall turing into a garage when i first got the car. not rust, dont worry. (rear passangers door btw)
2)chips in the taillight, one on the far left of the pic(chip), one harder to see on the right near the curve (crack). got car with light like this.
3) hit a SUV with a trailer hitch at about 5-10mph. little indent and scapes...
endmunds says the cars worth about $3500...im thinking im going to ask $2500 and be pretty(decently) firm about it. car drives as close to 100% as an 8 year old car possibly could. just has some cosmetic flaws.
and i know, its a BOOK. im sorry. i REALLY appreciate any of youre responses on what you think about it, especially if you took the time to read the whole thread. thanks so so so much!

I think that is entirely reasonable. Consider some of the other cars going for $2500. They are a lot older than 8 years old and have a much more tragic mechanical history than yours. With the damage you do have and with the mechanical condition its in I think $2500 is good. Just remember, keep the receipts so you can prove your mechanical claims.
