MAF sensor needed ? ? ?

I recently replaced the harness to the MAF because the old one was cracked, but I'm still having studdering issues.

If I give the car time to warm up and I take it easy on her, it seems to be ok, but randomly it'll start to studder like it's going into idle mode and back to regular. My CEL keeps giving me the MAF code.

so maybe my MAF sensor is bad?
is there a way to test the sensor?
does anyone have a good sensor I can buy?

thanks guys

Voltage test is better.

In the Haynes/Chilton/FSM.

If I were you, I'd get one off of that site and call it good. They can be had for less than 45$ shipped.

In the meantime

cool, thanks for the info guys.

I think I'll pass on the parts from Canada just because of the price, but I'll test the sensor and re-do my connections as well.

I tested the MAF with a voltmeter today and it was right on target with the numbers provided, thanks NmexMAX.

I'm going to drive around and wait until I have problems again and test it then again.

I'm thinking that maybe the wires I twisted together are expanding when they get hot and causing a bad connection, either way, at least I'm getting somewhere now.

MAF Sensor

Ha, i just made a similar post in another thread about this. Basically, i suggest cleaning ur MAF sensor before buying a new one. I cleaned mine and it worked wonders. You can get a can of MAF sensor cleaner from the auto parts store for like 6-8 dollars. Here's a link to a video showing you exactly what to do. I cleaned my by disconnecting the rubber pipe at the TB since I was cleaning that anways...I think it was quicker too.

Could a bad maf sensor cause my car to stall when I switch to reverse or from reverse to drive?
