Electrical help needed. Tach pegged and won't move.

I was changing my 1 farad capacitor to a 2 farad this morning and all seemed well. My stereo plays great, but now my tach needle has pegged itself and will not move except for a little jump when I shut the engine off. I am stumped as to why this is happening. Any help would be appreciated. By the way I have a 97 5-speed. Thanks. Jeremy

probably a bad speed sensor, that or just a bad cluster. I doubt it has anything to do with the cap.

on a side note, you should just get rid of the cap, its just putting more strain on your electrical system...
