20.359 miles per gallon, according to my calculations. Its the best I've gotten in a little over a year with the car. All city I normally get 16mpg, 19 city/highway mix, and now 20 mostly highway. Just sharing the good news.


Oh, ant on a completely different off-topic note: I peeled out this afternoon. Unintentionally left a long black tire mark on the pavement with my brand NEW tires.... LSD time?

weak. i usually get around 18-19 mpg city and the best i got recently was about 27-28mpg on the highway.

I got a consistant 25- 26mpg every tank full from ohio to florida. Car had ~180k at the time. ran 89 octane.

wow, I don't think I even get 20. I filled up on friday and zeroed out my trip counter, so I'll be able to realy guage it soon. I drive everywhere though, so I'll never be able to get a non-mixed (hwy/city) number

I'm just lucky to get as good a car as I did, and I'm grateful that everyday I turn the key and the damn thing starts....
I have to get on the highway to get to work and it's a 30 minute trip each way so being at speed instead of stop/go driving helps. Most of those trips are at 70 - 75 mph when I can get away with it.

I get 14mpg 100% city no matter how I drive. Don't do any highway ,so not sure what I would get. I'm glad I only do 5-6000 miles a year so it really doesn't kill me.

btw 172,000 miles and she runs great!

Wow, Im surpried that my rank sparked a conversation lol.
I tried driving like a granny in the city before and got 19mpg. I have 182xxx miles on the car and it needs knock and oxygen sensors and coil packs (Im working on it) so maybe thats the problem?

Haha def sounds like the problem...when youre changing the coils, change the spark plugs as well. That could also help. Im sure if you really wanted to go all out, you could replace the fuel injectors as well. Just my .02

i filled up to F (didn't top it off) and i drove to austin to get some rims from a fellow orger . did 365miles (round trip) and i am still above the quarter mark, so i am saying i would get a lil over 470miles on a really full tank, all highway.... but i usually get 18-20 in the city

edit... i hit a pot hole and bent my rim so i drove on a slightly bent rim

I got an auto and I'm lucky if I get avg of 17-20 mpg mix of city/highway... Changed KS a month ago, helped a LOT -- got me up to 21ish mpg [once so far]. I will change spark plugs soon too.
Wish I had 5spd though..would save me some moolah.

I drive in Brooklyn,NY and we have lots of traffic here and you stop on traffic light every minute.
100% city I get 13-14.5 mpg , if it's 30%city 70%highway I get 17.5mpg.
I fill up with 93.
I spoke to my friend who has 2007 maxima and he gets 17mpg city on his brand new car. Also most 4th gen nycmaximas.org members from Brooklyn get the same mileage as I get.

I'm sure your mileage depends on which city/state you drive.
If someone gets 26mpg in his city, he wouldn't get more than me in Brooklyn in stop and go traffic. You have to compare between people who drive in the same town/city, this way you can compare your mileage to others.

i was getting 17-18mpg with a sc'er, 2.87 pulley, 555ccs, and a z32 mafs with no tune. You shouldnt be proud of 20mpg.

Maintenance has one of the biggest affects on mileage; tire pressure, and how clean your fuel system is, also the type of transmission you have and type of engine oil you use. The weight of the rims (if u have any) open windows or the AC, using heated seats and rear window defroster with heated mirrors, as well as drag from the extended antenna. BTW, Engine mods kill gas. In the end what counts most the way you actually drive.

People should post something like this when they talk about mileage:

Location: North Toronto 70 % City / 30% HWY
Car: 97 auto
Maintenance: No codes, no mechanical issues to report
Type of Driver: Mature (or Racer [5000rpm+], Ricer [4000rpm+], Outlaw [redline], Grandma [<2500 rpm], Teenager [~3500rpm], etc...)
Weather conditions: Snow @-20C

Just kidding but you get the picture! There are many factors that cause mpg to change, even the way some people calculate it is incorrect. Dont worry just keep driving well and smart and you will be fine. Not hitting the gas if u see a red light coming up, let the gas go and cruise down the hill, that type of stuff counts.

I love pulling out of sidestreets and gunning it. 70 on the highway just doesnt happen - try 80-95 (road is mostly empty with no popo and lots of straights so no flame). Car is stock and, as I mentioned before, is throwing codes for knock and oxygen sensors and coilpacks. 93 octane always, almost always from Shell.
Oh yeah, and most of my driving right now is either on Rt. 90 between Worcester and Amherst, or on the twisties around Amherst.

I get around 19 miles per gallon. I just changed my Knock sensor and I'm about to fill up today to start getting some results.

I usually get 23-24, but I still have to change my knock and O2 sensors. Dropped down to ~21 recently, but hopefully that's just due to the zero degree weather we have been having for the past week.
