Electrical gremlins

I have a 97 Maxima MT, SE.

I have a electrical gremlin I can't seem to pinpoint. Sometimes(usually at night but sometimes during the day) My battery light, and ABS light flickers on. My radar detector goes from about 14.4V to 12V drop.

I'm not sure where to look or where to start. I have had both my battery and alternator replaced, but had the problem before then. Anyone have any idea where I should look?

Thank
E-M

Check into your alternator, maybe a slipping belt or something inside is broken. battery light and abs light usually will come on when the alternator isnt working. The voltage drop also points to the charging system not functioning but 12v to the radar detector..idk deponds on where you got it wired to i guess but that seems high. If you get it to come on and you perhaps had a voltmeter or multimeter with you check the voltage at your battery when the car is off, when it is on without lights, and when its on with the lights. Or just check everything with the alternator, belt tight, and all wires, not just for power but maybe excessive resistance. Its probably something real stupid seeing how its not all the time, loose connection, corroded wire something like that.

**edit i misread, battery and abs light would not be alternator, thought i read brake light. good luck man.

I got one of them as well. The other day my TCS light and ABS light stayed lit... turned the car off and back on and they went away

How can I know alternator is the source of this issue: ABS light comes on and then the car stopping suddenly while I am driving.

But, then after a jump start it runs fine.

I need to find what part is causing me trouble as my dealer could not help.

I checked with Autozone/Napa and they said alternator and battery are good.

Please help.

If the alternator is good, then chances are its your battery....one of the two is faulty...I'd bet its the alternator though
