Brake fluid might be low, check it.

If it is, more than likely you'll need new pads soon.

My brake light was on and my rear caliper was leaking fluid, so I needed to replace it. It can happen from the fluid being too low. go check it out.

my brake light was just on, after a couple days i checked the fluid and it was just above the minimum line. i added a lil fluid to bring it up to the middle and the light went off.

check the arms that hold the e-brake lines on the rear calipers, it may be getting stuck, if so just clean it up with wd40.

it could be the PARKIGN BRAKE sensor, but it will also go off if the fluid presser drops
