loud noise when turning

I noticed lately when i turn the wheel all the way to the left or the right and start making a sharp turn, even at low speeds, i start to hear a creaking. It tends to be louder on slight inclines too. Could my axles be on the way out? or is it suspension related?

Yea...quite annoying, and its always when your turning, it sounds like floorboards in a house creaking, but a good 10x louder.

CV joints may be going bad. with the car parked, turn the wheel all the way to the right or left (doesnt matter which) and look at the rubber part of both axles. if it's split open and you see grease coming out, you need to change them.

if it's not the cv joints, rock the car back and forth and if you hear squeeking, it's your suspension

yea its not my cv joints, mine sounds more like its coming from the rear wheels when i turn left...it sounds more like something is rubbing than a creaking however ive checked and nothing seems to be touching either of the wheels. i think its just the 10 year old chasis making noise, thats what i bought a front strut bar and am thinking about getting the rear sway bar...

i have some major squeeking in my front end, its pretty embarrasing while driving down the block because when i drive with the windows down and i hit a bump, it squeeks like a rat. i guess it's time for a new suspension setup =/

I actually just bought a maxima; I'm coming from an old '92 Lincoln Towncar. The towncar had a big problem with that - I always had to be sure not to turn the steering wheel all the way.

Anyways, how do you use the "search" function? I click "search" up at the top of the page, and it says I don't have permission to.

If someone could help me out and search for threads regarding gluing the ceiling fabric back to the ceiling (it has a moonroof), or some other fix for falling ceiling fabric; it would be greatly appreciated!!

Or just use google to search the site.
There's a way to specify which website to search.

I am experiencing a similar problem. Last night when I was coming home I would turn the wheel left like 90 degrees and I would get this noise it only happened for like 1 sec like something was getting binded and it was popping back. I took off the wheel today but found nothing. This only happens when I turn the wheel like 90 degree. If i hold it there it makes the noise for 1 sec then stops even though the wheel is still turned. It just like a ping noise. I am possibly thinking bad swaybar endlink. What you guys think?

I've also been getting a creaking noise lately from the front end when I turn the wheel, only at very low speeds (less than 5mph or standing still). It is really annoying and I'd love to find out the cause. CV joints and boots appear to be in good shape also.

I'm also getting a squeak from the front which I'm thinking is suspension related since it occurs when I press down on either side.

When I had a bad swaybar endlink I was getting more of a popping noise, usually when coming to a stop or over small bumps. Didn't matter if the wheel was turned or not.
