Maxima meets Civic.....

Ok this is different, i know that. I'm hooked on different lol. Basically i hate that my car doesnt have a wing, and my wrecked civic ex does. So i took the wing off the civic just for an idea of how this may look, and i took some photos. Obviously it is a mock up so its not centered perfect or bolted flush, but it wouldnt be hard to install it at all. And of course i would paint it to match the car.

I kinda like the look, although i admit its a bit odd looking at the points but when bolted down i think it would flow nicely. I'm fishing for input, but please please PLEASE do not just slam this because it came off a civic. I think we are all mature enough to see it as a wing, not as a ricer addon lol.

yea i really like it, its in my apartment now so i can take the lights and what not off when i get bored later, and then tonight when it cools off ill spend some time starting the prep work.

Once i write down my paint code what is the best way to get the paint? I will be spraying it myself.

Too short IMO...but it does look decent. Why not just buy an OEM like one off of ebay for $cheap

if only it was a bit wider it would look a lot better reminds me of the 01-03 wing. As soon as you mentioned civic for some reason i pictured a big aluminum wing on the maxima...glad it wasnt. overall looks pretty good!

I was thinking a foot tall aluminum wing, too. Glad to see I am not alone. It does look too little. I think it would look better with the OEM wing or none at all. Sell the civic spoiler on ebay and buy a maxima one.

From the back, it doesn't look bad. But it does look kind of small looking at the side of the car.

thnx blackwind, i was just ignoring it lol. It is a tad small, but at the same time its different without being "over the line". It keeps a semi-factory look, low profile feel, and yet seems like its not quite what you would expect.

Depending on what the cost adds up to be for the paint will be the real factor as to wether i use the wing or wait on a maxima wing.

its a little short but if you dont have cash to get a better one it will do. it looks short from the rear but from the side view it looked cool.

well, just think about this. It might be only $30 to put it on. But you're going to have to patch ur trunk if u ever decied to take it off. It doesn't look wide enough. Money is always tight. But its not THAT expensive. I would rather leave the spoiler off than put it on. But that's jsut me...

That spoiler does look too short, maybe you should save up for a properly fitting spoiler because once you put it on, it may be trouble to go back... I don't know about you, but if I know something isn't eaxctly right, I'm gonna be haunted forever until I fix it.

I would save up to get an OEM replica or one of those EVO spoilers if you really like spoilers

IMHO it looks too short... it would look good from a side view, but from the front and back it just looks like its too short... ur better off leaving it as is, or buy a proper maxima wing and selling that one to make up for the difference

The main thing is i dont want the same thing that others have persay, and im sure no one on here has a 95 ex wing on their max. If it looked bad or questionable to me i wouldnt do it, but i like the different look of it. I'll have alot of time to think it over today in the jury seat lol

I think it looks pretty good, and nice job on the wax, I can plainly tell you are from Jersey, no shirt and all!

All kidding aside, it does look pretty good, and if you can do it cheap, go for it. Just make darn sure you like it first.

I think your best bet if you want OEM look is to get one off ebay, then go to paintscratch.com and get some spray paint and clear coat. Here is what mine looks like. Don't pay attention to the bumper, that's getting painted this week.

yea im in the middle of redneckville nj too LOL. It hasnt been waxed since i got and its filthy but i cant wait to get a slightly cooler day that i can spend all day detailing it cuz she really does shine =]

As for the OEM look, i dont want a OEM look. I want something different that sort of appeals to OEM, and i think i found it.

.... man this is like if your girl tells you your ***** isnt big enough.... what a hit to the maxima pride...
j/k

... i dont think its wide enough.... i think a oem one would look beetter casue it curves around the trunk... or why not get the raised oem spoiler .. i think paradox or custommax. sells it... the type 2 spoiler that is raised a bit more...

I'm with the 'too small' crew. Looking at the OEM wing, notice how the curve at the edges of the wing match well with the curves on the rear quarter panels. Your wing curves down too early and IMO doesn't look as good.
