imo its not worth it the car isnt worth enough to do all that work.

To make matters a little more interesting, my father is the one who bought the car for me, and the title is still in his name.
I got it when i graduated highschool 4 years ago, and now i'm graduating from college and will be living at home for awhile.
my dad wants to be involved in the car decision process.

also i wont be able to use the garage for more than a couple weeks this summer, because my mom insists on having a parking spot in there.

my parents also told me that i'd be silly to try to fix it without some guidance, or by taking some classes in welding or body repair.


this frickin sucks. the interior of the car is in wonderful condition, most the fenders are lookin good too.

since i probably wont be fixing this myself (since I dont have the damn resources) it looks like im going to have to get an estimate from a shop and see if its worthwhile.

i hate cars, i hate rust, and i dont know what the heck i want for my next car. seriously, there is no asset that depreciates in value quicker than a car does. i wonder if its really even worth having a nice car.

Looks like free weight reduction to me. Strip the car drop a vq35 into it, get coilovers and make it a weekend racer. and buy a new car

Paint the inner sill with red oxide, weld on a new outer sill, cut all the upper bodywork off, weld in stiffening and drainpipe roll-bar, remove the rear and passenger seat, install racing harness, you're fit to go!

so in the future for my next car, should I get it undercoated for rust prevention every year? I'm at least going to wash it underneath more.

Also do they make a lot of cars that don't have metal parts on the bottom that are exposed to the ground (like an underbody that is covered in plastic)?
