The aftermarket is there if that is a selling point.

I think they resale a bit high for what they are.

Preludes are nice, but to me they don't compare to the 4th gen maximas.

My buddy has a manual with only intake. When i was completly stock auto he would pull a length on me.When i installed a y-pipe i would pull a length on him.Well know i pull on him instantly and he has no chance. For what they are i think there expensive. Actually i think he may sell his if your interested. He lives in fargo as well.

They have decent top-ends stock, but a 4th gen 5sp with a ypipe and/or VI should take them out pretty easily, their low-end and midrange is a bit short of spectacular.

Handle pretty well for a FWD though.

Preludes are nice 2 door cars that will get you performance that you'd expect from a 4 dr sedan (like the Maxima). If it was me; I'd rather keep the 4 dr sedan for all its practical uses or get a true sports car like the Z (94-96). But my personal situation might be different from yours (howmuch u drive, howmany ppl ride with u etc.)

My real close friend had one before he got t boned by a drunk driver.....
We put headers, catback, and intake on it.
It was neck and neck with my car, and I would just slightly pull away sometimes....
That car handled GREAT with coilovers.... Very agile and twitchy little cars.
As someone else said, if I was going to get a FWD 4 cyl honda, it'd be a prelude.... or a type r.... or an Si....

I am in the exact same boat as you Jonny98max, i am looking for a 5th gen lude at the time. I've owned 2 preludes in the past (87, 89) and loved them. I want a pearl white 5th gen and i'm set. For me its time for something different. Good luck

They are overpriced, but sweet cars. I think that the prelude has a tougher/stronger feel than a civic.
Civics feel flimsy while a prelude is stout

Prelude > maxima in every aspect. If you want a sportier car get the prelude. The maxima suspension, steering, and gas mileage sucks. Not to mention the crappy brakes. The maxima just wanst meant to be a sports car. Overall the prelude will be a better car if you dont need 4 doors. Just because its an i4 does not mean anything. It still produces nice power. The fit, finish and feeling of the prelude is superior to the 4 gen. Go test drive one and see how much better it is than the maxima.

My friend had a 5th Gen Prelude, the SH model. Low end power is not all there but in terms of handling and top end its spectacular. You can really throw that model around corners and when you are on the highway it can get you into trouble with that midrange to top end power. He sold it and bought an older built mustang and he says that avoiding tickets is a lot easier now, lol.

I disagree. The maxima is more refined, has more room, and even though it's 4 door, it's lighter than the prelude. It's cheaper, and cheaper to maintain, and pretty easy to make fast. Gas mileage is negligible, because it all depends on how well you maintain the car, and how you drive it. The maxima is NOT a sports car, but it is a sporty sedan that gives alot of "sports cars" a run for their money, after getting your sunday groceries, of course.

In my opinion, no sports car is 4 cylinder and FWD.

IMO no sports car is FWD at all, even it it has a shiz load of HP. its gotta be RWD to be true sports car. hell, just get an old 240Z and restore it. i love those.

i have a friend w/ a ebp 02 base .. its a okay fast car.. stock. the max has much more torque than a lude ever will get, but once in vtec, they are pretty fast.
in terms of build quality.. its gonna be on par w/ the max.

both are totally different types of cars w/ different styles. u will definitely get better gas mileage w/ the lude. (but dont expect substantial difference)

i say go for it, if u are lookng for something different.

DC2 Type-R is probably the only N/A four banger I would consider.

Ludes are nice, but they are not sports cars.

Are you looking for sportiness/speed or just a semi-practical two-seater?

This is OTHER CARS like a mf'r BTW

My brother has a 93 Prelude Si...its got the 4ws (4 wheels steering) option as well. It's suprisingly quick, and the handling is amazing....it takes corners very easily and fast, and is a blast to drive. Hondas are great cars and usually are easy to work on....you would have to get usd to the size difference tho...Preludes are small

Suprisingly the Prelude had a lot more top end. The mustang is built for the strip and although it pulls insanely at lower speeds it dies when reaching large numbers. I think the way the gearing is set up on the Mustang prohibits it from hitting anything too high.

Concering the 93 SI that thing is not even the top model, the VTEC version had a lot more top end.

i wouldn't get one. if you wanna pay twice as much as a max, pay higher insurance, and floor it to get any power then go ahead. i considered it before i got my max and i'm glad i didn't get a lude.

Like others said if I was to get a honda it would be a prelude. I just love the way they look for some reason.

yeah. true that. 240sx is a better handling car than a prelude would be, but the prelude is still quite a tad faster.

ive owned a 92 240sx. the car handles great but has NO top end power at all. it still had the stock ka24 truck engine.
if getting any 240, u gottta do a sr20 swap or a rb26. $$$$$
