um...the same way you remove a regular headunit.

Here's what i did.

Pry up on the shifter trim.
Take off the ashtray (1 screw)
remove the bottom 2 screws
pull the ac vents/clock assembly (pops out, pull towards you)
unscrew the 2 screws on the top

remove the 8 screws holding the headunit on the brackets, remove wire harnesses

BAM, you have just removed your Blose headunit.

for the top ac and hazard trim I use a butter knife my favaroite tool for it makes life easy, leaves no dents on the dash which is a plus.

when you take it off DO NOT SIT ON/CRUSH THE PLASTIC PARTS. They break like eggshells.

I did what is in these instructions, but the ashtray still won't come out. Are u shure it's only connected with 1 screw?

all that work and 1 screw won't budge!!!!! I'll have to wait till I can get a power tool to finish the job. Never thought I would call pulling out a HU a job.

Yeah, it worked. You have to put a little muscle on the ash tray to get it out, but like he said, it won't break.

Problem occurs!!! While unscrewing these 8 screws, looks like they were screwed too tight. I just use a regular philip screw driver. They won't budge. And the slots on the screws are a little bit stripped. Any tips to remove these 8 screws easily? Maybe get a larger screw driver or heat up the screws......

I had to drill out one of the screws holding in my Bose HU, it was in there so tight. There's also a clip that holds in the ashtray, as well as the wire to the light (mine doesn't work so it's not attached). My ashtray clip is gone, but the one screw holds it in place just fine.

Note that sometimes the 4 gold screws holding in the dash piece are sometimes hard to screw back in because they pick up metal grit from the screw holes. Just wipe off the threads with your fingers -- they should screw in without much force.

I've removed my HU piece more times than I can count (more than my fingers and toes).

I thought most of those screws also took a 10mm socket. (except for the ones near the ashtray). I don't even bother with a Philips anymore for those...

Those 8 screws holding the HU to the bracket weren't that bad just use a big phillips screw driver and put some muscle into twisting.

Thanks, Crooper_Hedder!

Will try larger philip screw driver and put more strength on them.

If I am still unable to budge them and destroy the screws. I will use "broken screw remover" to drill them out.
