Wondering.
Mecerdes and BMW have these Awesome Blue-Tinted Side Mirrors....

Is this a film like a tint?
I think its part of the actual glass but they look sooo nice..

Anyone ever swap BMW-blue mirrors onto our 4thGen Mirrors..?????
(talkin about the side of car mirrors that stick out, not the center rear view inside the car)

Ideas?. im gonna hit the junk yard this weekend and see if i can find something

I have the same question. I know of guys who have put colored tint on the side mirrors to mimic what is done by the dealership but i am curious if it is just tint that BMW puts on those side mirrors. If it is just tint, that would be nice as the local tint shop could do the job.

i think its tempered glass possibly doing with the heating elements in them as well. get them if you want. it will serve no purpose to you other then to look cool.

the 99.5-04 jetta's have them as well.

3rd gens have blue glass also. i know its not film tint, maybe its the color of the reflector? i have always wanted them and thought about getting some 3rd gen mirrors and try something.

they sell those corny rolls of window tint at like autozone, i was thinking of getting a light shade of blue and trying to put it on there, i dont knwo if it'd work though.

one of my side mirror have blue tint (babyblue), i bought it like that, look pretty ok, people car light get whiter even though its yellow, lol.

Get 5% tints you will learn not to really use your side mirrors.

i like that **** to....it does serve a purpose as other said it help with glare, and it does to some extent, when i drive my girls jetta, it stops it quiet a bit

Ok cool.. at least we got some good feedback here.

I Actually bought that Blue-Autozone tint before and tried it. It was on an extra mirror though that wasnt on the car.
-Problem w/ the tint material was that when it came to the edge of the glass it didnt lay flat and look good. the Edge where the mirror and Black trim is kinda lifted the tint up and there were Bad bubbles everywhere.. I also tried a little heat to hold it down but it didnt look very professional.

I could care less about the heat really, im not in alaska and my luck i would forget to turn em off.

Hey: ManualMaxima... does ur g/f's Mirror look near the size of ours? might look a V-Dubs too then.. didnt know they had blue-side mirrors.

Huh. 03 Acura to a 97' Maxima.. sounds like me lol.. I sold my 00' Lexus GS300 for the 2nd black maxima i got now lol..... addicted u could say...

I think ALOT of cars Have them, well the High-end Models do.
I Also thought about the Infinity vechicles and wondered if a model they make has the blue mirrors... that could be a simple swap and might fit... who knows.

yea... i had a brand new 03 tl-s that i fukked up twice within 6 months. i sold it cause i didn't want to drive it anymore and bought myself a 91 golf to compensate for all my losses due to my tl... then i got the max last year.
