Problems with guage lights...need really bright ones
I have aftermarket guages, indigilo ones, and I painted my needles red because a red permanent market was hardly permanent. When I turn my lights on at night, it was very hard to see the needles, the light wouldn't illuminate the whole needle. Anyway, I bought these lights from superbrightleds.com (The WLED 1-LED bulb, the 2nd one on the page). I installed them and thought they would be brighter than my OEM bulbs, well...they suck, you can't see my needles at all.
My question is...where should I get LEDs to get some reallly suuuuper briiiight LEDs that will be bright than OEM lights

I think OEM lights end up being the brightest they come.
Unless the needles were originally designed red, I dont think theyll shine very brightly.
One thing I just thought about though, when you look at needles from the side, it appears that they are only painted on the top ridge and not the sides, which may be what gives them the bright glow...
This is just me trying to come up with answers, Hope I helped in someway though. and I hope im not totally wrong...
