Can we wire the sun roof to the keyless window opeing feature?
well as the title says it.... I was thinking about this for the summer.
when we open our car door windows on hot days... what if the sun roof opens at the same time....

I could with my 91 key pad! haha. It would be cool with my new max too. You talking about the stock remote or aftermarket? I'm sure that a shop could mod an aftermartket remote. I'm guessing that's what you mean.

no I was was just wondering with the stock version... since sometyhing is triggered in the car to open the windows, just ru a wire from the open button on teh sun roof to the same wire that activates the windows (like tap in wire)

HAHA you should be laughing your a$$ off! I had no idea! I feel like such a tool! But a great thing to know!! Now I want to know if you can add the roof!
I was looking at the 4th Gen FAQ'S and the wire list for the alarm. Windows are black/blue wire. So maybe by tapping into that wire and going to the roof button...may be possible. But I have no idea about how to wire that.

Has any one actually pulled out the plastic peice that holds the switch and such for the sunroof?
I would think if the blue/black wire was for the windows and a hypothetical red wire runs from it. I would think you could find another red wire in the sunroof switch and either run a blue/black to the open switch, or to the tilt switch. Im not sure what effects that would have though...the sun roof might take longer to open than the windows, or the windows will take longer to open than the tilt, and it could put unwanted stress on one of the motors.
Anyone else agree?

Not easily. I've tried and tried, nothing really seems to make sense with the wiring down in the driver side window control panel. The window down is a double pulse across the data lines, IIRC, not just a regular voltage/presence based signal across the wire. Because of that it's not like just soldering a jumper wire in between the window harness and the sunroof.
I've checked with a multimeter and...I don't know, I can't even really explain the results because it's been a few months since I last tried. All I really remember that it confused the **** out of me, and I tested and probed every last damn wire in that harness.

it's only so funny because i think everyone on here who bought a used Maxima has had that revelation and with a surprised response similar to yours. i'll never forget when i read that on here for the first time. i didn't believe it so i ran out to my car right away and tried. holy $h!t.
i also wish someone could figure out how to get the back windows to roll down with the remote. it would be sweet to have all 4 windows and the sunroof open at once.

AFAIK it's not possible with the rear windows same as the sunroof. If there was a way to reprogram the BCM to pulse the control panel in such a way to roll down all four...
Jime just bought some new equipment to mess with the TCM, maybe it'll work on the BCM too.

well despite all, will try to do this, don't know when....
also, you say the windows receive a one pulse signal. but that would not make sense, since you have to hold the unlock button to let the windows roll all the way down.
what I mean is, if you stop the windows stop rolling.
maybe a wire taped in the BCM... or two wires... just like in the window.
ok well. thanks for the replys...
if I get it, sure I'll tell everyone.

Well I forgot where I read the pulse along the data lines, but I do know that it's not a normal signal to the control panel when the windows are sent down from the remote. I've kept a multimeter on every single wire and rolled the windows down, and nothing kept constant.
But hey, more power to you, I'd love to see this done. Just for the ability to do it, of course, since I've got aftermarket keyless/remote start now.
