Cattman Catback VS. Greddy SP2

Ok guys, I'm leaning toward the Cattman catback system.. want something with nice tone, deep and mellow, but nothing too loud and no horrible drone inside the cabin.. I do have a WS Ypipe, as well as SR intake, TS ECU, and the usual array of bolt-ons..
My question is how is the SP2 system? Does it have that ever-so-annoying drone? Is the Cattman a much better system? The Cattman gets ALL the coin, but if its worth it, then thats it! I wanna do it right the first time. I appreciate your input guys..

I have the full Cattman system and would never change it for anything else. Subdued at low RPMs and the sound is awesome when you romp on it. Not sure if it sounds about the same with the 3.0 though.

i have headers, ypipe, and greddy sp2 catback. absolutely love the sound. it took a few months to completely break in, but its a nice agressive and tuned sound. inside the car the exhaust isnt very noticable because its designed to be quiet inside the cabin. when you romp on it it sounds soooo sick. not "ricey" at all. i would recommend the greddy sp2 cat back. i have 1 pic of it on my cardomain site. one thing tho about the greddy, it does tend to hang lower than other exhausts.

cheak out the stickeys for the sounds. I myself like the sound of the SP2 besides the hanging of the pipe. Never actually thought about cattman.

No problem... just look around a little bit before you post a thread. It will save from a lot of flaming and aggravation. Along the top of the page there's the maxima.org banner, the second option along the bottom says "donations". Click that, and then you can donate. BTW, I think you'll be happy with an sp2... I love mine. Good luck.

I have been checking out LOTS of pics of these 2 systems.. u cant even see a Cattman, except the muffler.. and the sp2 seems relatively the same. He had the only one I saw pics of that you could even see below the car! weird..
think he needs to give greddy a call..

My Cattman:

99 SE-L w/ 95-96 Greddy SP2:

Both sound excellent, Greddy is great for the money. The low B-pipe is about the only "downside" to the Greddy unit.

Correct. Also, the '97-'99 have an additional O2 sensor.

I think there may be a difference with a 6" or so pipe that the 97+ has behind the cat with an o2 in it.. where as the 95-96 has the rear o2 right in the cat! May make a big difference.. check this out and anyone else correct me if I am wrong..

That picture does the GReddy no justice, seeing as it was designed to fit on to a '95-'96 maxima, and that's a '99. But the cattmann does not hang as low as the GReddy does.

I have a SP2 designed for a 97-99 on my 97, b-pipe, while not flush with the underside, is noticably higher than the pic linked on the thread. Great deep note outside, some medium tone in the cabin between 2K-3K and at WOT.

sp2 is burning the sh*T out of my bumper cuase the tip sits right against it, thats a problem with it besides it hanging too low.
i have a 95.
also, you'll need to plug the extra 02 bung with an 02 plug bolt or you'll have the worst exhaust leak ever.

If I have a 96, with a 98 rear bumper, and I get a 96 sp2, will it be short of coming to the edge of the rear bumper?

I had the Cattman Catback on my 98, it was fabulous. My buddy had the Greddy and it melted some of the plastic on his bumper because the exhaust is so big. The Cattman definately makes a nice sound at the low rpms. I would give Cattman my vote
