Thinking About Going Back to Stock

I'm seriously thinking about going back to my stock muffler. Currently I have Warpspeed Y, SS B pipe, and Stillen Muffler. I want to keep everything but the Stillen muffler. My main question is who has the Y-pipe with Stock Muffler, and how does it sound?

** Sick of getting pulled over, they're cracking down on exhaust.

Have you thought about adding a 5th gen muffler? That would quiet it down quite a bit I'd say.

I had the WSP y-pipe, custom B-pipe with resonator and a 5th muffler. The car had a nice tame rumble much like a E36 M3. Around town it was very tame and at WOT it was a bit more throaty. Years ago I had an HKS mufflerr with a y-pipe and it was really loud. OEM mufflers do a great job of keeping the volume down and killing exhaust resonation. The OEM mufflers aren't restrictive either.

Kind of loud and it has a mean drone to it around 2000-2500, not worth the money for what you get. I had the HKS rear section and liked the sound alot better than the stillen, and the quality is better on HKS.

Yeah I was wondering about mufflers. I wouldn't suspect the difference between a stock and an aftermarket muffler to be that much, like 1-2 hp maybe? They seem to just be for sound anyway, like most intakes. So why not keep the stock one and keep that nice refined sound as opposed to the loud raspy straight through mufflers.

Yeah, maybe I'm an old Ninny. The loud raspy exhaust is just not me any more. I still have my stock muffler, but the harsh New England winters have done a # on it. I just bought an OEM from Pinnacle. I'm going to spray paint it black w/ Hi-heat paint to protect it.

now you have me wondering. See I've listened to them all and I pretty much think I like the sound of Cattman with well just about any after market y-pipe particularly with the stillen or cattman one. But does the Stillen catback that bad sounding cause my friend bought one for the G35 and now stillen has added resonators to their catbacks due to complaints on older exhaust system such as our gen maximas.
