energy suspension motor mounts, automatic

We tried to install the new motor mount inserts but only the rear

one fit, the forward mount takes a larger insert!
Has anyone else encountered this problem?
If so, what's the fix??

Everything is always a hassle!!

I'm confused, do you mean there are different mounts for different standard trannies?? If so, what year are you talking about??

I thought you said you had automatic? The ES motor mount inserts are only for 5spds...

Auto's bring a different front mount, electronically controlled mumbo jumbo crap...

I do have an auto! Lets start over. Did you install the rear 5 speed mount in your auto tranny car? And if so, what if anything is available for the front mount?
Does anyone know about a substitute insert?
By the way, my rear motor mount was broken up and in bad shape. The front mount seems undamaged. It appears the rear mount takes most of the punishment.

Ok since you have an auto, you either need to one.. Just replace the front mount with a new OEM if its bad, or 2) Find a used 5spd front mount and press in the ES inserts that you bought... The rear mounts on the autos and the 5-speed's are the same..

The ES bushings will not work in a front automatic mount..

I havnt replaced my mounts yet, I just did some research before I ordered the ES inserts..

There was one guy that got the ES mount to fit in his front auto mount. He had to cut some metal and bend it and then press it into the mount housing so the insert would then properly fit.

I found a place called ABC nissan in phoenix AZ and they have a front motor mount for the 1996 Nissan Maxima 3.0 GXE- Fits Engine - Chassis:VQ30DE — A32
part # 1127040-U02.

The guy took it out of stock and measured and it is 3 1/2" diameter. It also cross references to the 96 I30 infiniti stick shift.

He claims it should bolt right up to an automatic frame.
Has anyone here used this mount on the max or i30 automatic??

This would solve the problem for people with automatic trannies wanting to use the energy suspension inserts.

Am I missing something?,,Has anyone here successfully done this??

just another idea. You can return your front motor mount insert, and then just fill the front one with poly urethane. I filled the mounts on my 95 GXE and they are holding up fine. Just another option, if you cannot figure out the ES front bushing.

How long does it take to dry after it's poured?. Can you bake it in an oven?

I don't know about baking...If I recall you are suposed to let it set up for three days. I know when I did mine I let them set up for 6 days because I had the engine out of the car, so I did not have a need to put mine back in until I dropped the new engine in. I got the stuff from mcmaster carr, I believe is was shore 80, if you search "filling motor mounts" either here or the general discussion, the link to the poly urethane is posted.

I thought the front electronic automatic motor mount measures 4" diameter!!

The ES inserts measure 3.5".

Isn't the Energy Suspension Inserts (part number 7.1114) only for the LEFT and RIGHT mounts?

I see you guys say the mounts can be used on the front and rear mounts.

I knew the thread was old, but don't penalize me for using the SEARCH feature on this site. Amazon.com has the Energy Suspension Motor Mount inserts on their site, but it says "Left & Right" for the application.

I just want to confirm that they mounts are for front/rear as I have almost my entire engine bay taken apart to pieces.

this says the rear DID fit, the front was the issue. which seems to have been solved with a front GXE mount for auto from 96. rear= right side of engine, front= left side. then there is the mount on the right/passenger side of the car that is refered to as the right front mount (actual front of the engine).
