2.25" to a 2.5" exhaust

Hey all,

Bought a new muffler for my car but it's a 2.5" and my exhaust is 2.25. Is there a flange I can have welded on to adapt it to my new muffler or am I SOL?

A muffer shop should be able to take care of it.

My muffler is 2.5" as well with the stock 2.25" bpipe and I just brought it to the shop (Minute Muffler) and they welded everything together for me, no problem.

they must have some kind of adapter plate or short piping that increase in diameter.

IF the shop has the right equipment, they can flare your tube so it can fit a 2.5" muffler. they did it with mine and my pipe was 2" to the 2.5" of the muffler inlet. they just widen the area of the tube where it connects, by using the mandrel bending machine with that attachment.

A local performance parts store near me carries couplings that go from many different sizes to another - 2.25 to 2.5 is one of them. I picked one of those up for like a dollar and change before. Auto zone carries similar things but I think they only connect pipes of the same diameter. If you can't find anything like that, any mechanics place will weld it up for you like others have said, find a locally owned one and they might just slap it up there for free.
