300z BBK installed....can't move....

this is with washers behind the wheels (ghetto spacers).

Not driving it until some 15mm H&R spacers get in....putting 5mm spacers on rear to make sure it doesn't look totally off after the fronts space out that much.

But it looks pretty. Can't wait to actually be able to drive it.

How much did all this cost you? How much do the Cobra rotors weigh?

what is your offset on those rims? ii think the offset and the spoke desing matters the most on getting the rims to clear the setup.

1. Yes - they are Cobra Rotors from IRotors.com - 20lbs was the shipping weight.

2. Offset on my rims is 40mm

I obught the parts over a year or so time - so it's hard to recall exact cost....this is my best estimate.

Calipers & Lines = $200 shipped
Pads = $100 shipped
Rotors = $125 shipped
H&R Spacers (15mm) = $130 shipped.
H&R Spacers (5mm for rear so it doesn't look too off) = $65 shipped
Brake Fluid = $5.00
Duplicolor Brush-on high temp paint = $20.00
Duplicolor Clearcoat = $6.00

That's about all I can think of.

17s clear the rotors but the spoke design and the offset is what matters.

offset has to be less then 40 because the 6th gen 18s offset is 40 and the spoke desing has to curve out like the 350z anniversary wheels

Correct. I have them sitting in my room right now. Wondering if iansw, vsamoylov, or others have something else to balance out the brake bias.

Nice job Ian. I'm surprised 15mm spacers are needed..

Baer Eradispeed 2pcs are in the vicinity of $450 for the pair. Mucho dinero.

vsamoylov,
What pads are you using and are you getting any noise with it? I'm considering 2pcs Cobra blanks over the 2pcs Baers if noise is a problem. On Vipers and Vettes they are noisy.

Just finished my install, and let me tell yeah, using the same rims, I only needed 5mm spacers, so I dont know whats up with that, but I'm really liking these brakes, except that they lock up way too easily on my completely blad tires in the rain, so I'm gonna buy dome new tires and report back tomorrow. BTW, I'm using Hawk HP+ pads, and they seem good for now.

yea new tires might help.......the brand of rotor might have to do with it....if using difffernt...the hat could have a slightly different thickness requiring diff spacers.....i will need 1/2" ones for my 04 maxima rotor/300zx caliper upgrade because for auto-x i use 300zx wheels and accordong to Matt i need them...

My rotors look exactly like the original posters, and we are both riding on 17x8 Fn01r-c's, so unless they made them in multiple offsets, which I'm not saying they didn't, then they should be the same.

i was just thinking in theory that differenet brands would have diff thickness...but as far sa wheels i know alot of them come in different offsets and lot dont....it might be stamped in the inside of the wheel.....i hope my Enkei RSF-2 dont require more than a 1/2" spacer that my 300zx auto-x wheels require...it would suck having to use different spacers for diff wheels

Actually, now that I think about it, I have seen these rims with as little as a 25mm offset, so its alltogether possible that ours do have different offsets. Just for kicks and giggles I'll check to see if its stamped in there once I put some real spacers in. I'm hoping for your sake that the 1/2" spacers work for both, I'm sure they will, but best of luck to you. Also, pics coming soon.

i am sure they willl.....matt said every set of 17s he has used so far has worked....i think mine are 45mm offset so either way i am pretty confindent 1/2" will give plenty of clearence for my 17s and enough for the 16s for auto-x...i am going to measure my offset when i get home because now i am wondering

heres a link to the thread with my pics, I'm very pleased with the braking power of this setup, although the pedal will take some getting used to as it requires a lot more travel for the brakes to grab.
