Gas coming out of the exhaust

I have a major problem with gas coming out the exhaust. Not just fumes but actual gas spraying out. Any suggestions. Major loss of power too

You sure its gas and no water? That tends to happen when you buy ****ty gas, so the powerloss would be evident as well.

i would put my money on it being condensation. or else, let it drip onto a metal surface, move the car away and try to light it.

Fuel getting that far back in the exhaust sytem unburned is almost unheard of, and very rare.

well we did light it and it did catch fire well we put a bucket behind the exhaust so it wouldnt go all over the floor and sure enough we poured onto the floor FAR away from the car and it caught fire. Can it be a result to having bad coil packs. Definitly cylinders aren't working.

When it first happened no. But when we started the car after we took apart the dash to do the heater core then yes. I will find out tomorrow if it is still on the battery is now disconnected.

Just came back from NYCBUBBAS's crib and checked the codes,
this is what i got

10 8 EVAP canister purge volume control valve

2 1 Ignition Signal Circuit

and

1 2Mass Air Flow Sensor

one of his injectors were making a funny staticking noise, and his plugs were rea wet at the tip

Plugs being wet = coils typically.

MAF is probably why a lot of this is happening too.

its not that i dont believe you, its just that i dont know. How does coils have to do with wet plugs? wouldnt it be an injector problem? one of his injectors were making a staticky noise aswell even when the car was off. im not knocking you, i just want you to explain your answer

If the coil doens't fire, it sends unburned (wet) fuel into the cylinder, and onto the
plug ...

Explain your logic...-->how a dead injector could wet the plug if it's shooting blanks? The plug would be white, poitning to a lean (high heat due to no or lack of adequate amount of fuel) condition.

what if the injector is staying open. When the battery is connected the injector is making static noises.
edit* keep in mind that the coil packs and spark plugs are not in right now i connected the battery so we can check the code. The injector keeps making a static noise with the key not in the ignition. we disconnected the injector to check the codes.

would this cause fuel to be dumped out the exhaust?

The CPVCSV is easy to see and reach. It is located in the engine compartment, mounted to the top of the upper intake manifold. Notice the Vehicle Serial number stamped into the firewall. Put your finger on the third-from-last number. Move your finger three inches toward the radiator. That's the CPVCSV. It has one two-wire electrical connector and two vacuum hoses. It is directly above the ignition coil connector for cylinder #5 and has to be removed in order to replace the #5 coil or spark plug.

You may test the valve. This test procedure is performed with the engine off. Remove the electrical connector and both vacuum hoses. Fasten a length of clean rubber vacuum tubing to either nipple. Gently blow through the hose. The valve should be closed and it should be difficult or impossible to send air through the valve. Now use a pair of fused test leads to provide 12 volts to the electric terminals. The polarity doesn't matter. With the solenoid energized the valve should be open and it should be easy to send air through the valve.

Since you have 2 A32's there, swap parts, and see what it needs.

But I forget, 2 Da's Maxima is pretty UNmaintained as well

so... basically the injector is sticking open... or the coil pack is not firing... or both
if you have so much gas pouring out of the exhaust that it's dripping out of the back i would guess the injector is stuck open. Shouldn't you be getting an error code for the rear O2 sensor since the cat obviously can't handle all of the gas?
eh
my 2 cents...

I thought you said it needed a MAF etc... Maybe it was someone else..

Oh well, swap MAF's and see what happens.

If that doesn't work, swap coils.

you dont understand, if i swap coils that fawken motor will literally blow!!! especially with all that fuel in the exhaust system..

Besides the coil pack im thinking that the ignition is being left on and the fuel pump is staying on and flooding the engine...

As for the coilpacks, we switched the different posistions, but when we switch it, there is fuel in other spark plug sockets... so its not really helping..

So then yank the fuel pump fuse, run it until it dies ... and then try it.

Also, fuel evaporates quite easily, so it shouldn't be too bad .. but still a potential hazard.
