Why is my carpet always wet?

The carpet directly underneath the floormat in the rear drivers side is always wet. Anyone know why this is? I thought it was because there was a leak from my spoiler, but i patched that up. Then i thought i was because i didnt have splash guards, but the carpet is still wet even after 3 days of inactivity. Anyone know what else it could be?

Maybe try taking out the carpet, and try to find out where the water is comming down from. Maybe putting a type of sponge or something on each side to try and isolate which direction the water is comming from

Check the sun roof drains, make sure they are not clogged and also check to make sure the hoses are attached to the drains on the channel. You'll have to pull the headliner down to see them.

If this were the case, would my ceiling be wet too? Do you guys think its possible that theres another spoiler leak or maybe a trunk leak that would cause my interior to get wet?

I had a similar problem in a different car. It would happen in the rain while driving and not when the car was standing.

It turned out to be a tiny hair-line crack in the floorboard so water was coming from the bottom.

I had the same problem. Turned out to be a sunroof drain hose fell off in the roof. I didn't think of it either because of the same logic (Wouldn't the headliner be wet). The headliner is moulded out of what looks like fiberglass and the water just runs over it into the plastic trim and down to your carpet. There are 4 drain hoses 1 on each corner of the sunroof.

I read a post a few weeks ago that mention checking the seal between the tail lights & the body for a trunk leak.

ususally a leak in the trunk is from the taillights. The seal between the light and the body goes bad.

Sloppy's got a Wet One!

Sloppy has wet floor on the passenger's side front floor. I discovered that a hole had been punched in the plastic cover underneath the glovebox. Repaired with JB Weld and the floor is now dry. Ironic thing is that the starter core from a previous repair flew off the passenger's seat into the plastic cover during an emergency brake event while returning the core to Napa. Some days you just can't win. -Sloppy

Check the AC Heater core drain hose, the AC runs when defrost is used so if you use that it will condensate. Also check underneath to see if body plugs aren't missing.

The worst thing to ever happen to my trunk was a bag of dirt.

You should take car of the leak before you get screwed when you have a flat tire and your spare is frozen in a solid block of ice.

I saw this happen once. The carpet was frozen to the floor and we couldnt even get to the spare.
