There's an entire forum for this sort of question...Fluids and Lubricants. However, from personal experience, I know my car doesn't burn Exxon or Shell nearly as well as BP as evidenced by throttle response, smoothness of acceleration, etc.

When you say BP, do you mean 76? THe 76's around here used to be BP.
Personally, i only use 76, but that is probably because i used to work there in high school. I haven't really tried the others and done a comparison. That would be interesting to do one.

BP is good. I use Exxon 95% of the time, but will use BP to change it up sometimes. Last week I used BP, throttle response doesn't seem as good when I have Exxon in the car.

Maybe I will fill up on Bp next time I am down near it considering it about 10 miles from me. I have ran Shell and Bp but I haven't actually paid attention to that type of stuff maybe I will next fillup. Added Chevron last night

honestly, i haven't noticed anything reguarding throttle responce and smoothness but then again i'm not really looking for that. I use all diffrent types of gas. I did notice a little bit of MPG stuff that was a little constant tho. Like Shell doesn't get me the best MPG. honestly gas is gas to me as long as its 93 octane

exxon/mobil or amoco whichever is cheaper. have noticed nothing with throttle response or mpg differences. there are other factors like weather, types of driving (ie. city/highway/short/long trips)

BP all the way. i tried that and also exxon/mobil. what i found out with my car is that BP burns faster...so therefore i get better gas mileage with exxon/mobil. but i like BP

That "V-Power" from Sunoco or Shell (can't remember which it is) is the only gas I can notice a difference on. Gave me around 350 miles on a tank, where I would normally get around 410 (took the same trip to Philly a few days earlier).

In my car, BP/Amoco is pretty much the same in mileage and performance as any other brand.

I'm usually filling up at the local Russian Mob outfit. Some no-name place, but they have put in new tanks and pumps. I'm getting 93 for Mobil 87 prices!

Here a list of the three i like the most, the first is the one i get the most of, and of course the last i least get but still use it whenever the two of above are not available.

1. BP
2. Exxon/Mobil
3. Shell

All the gas companies use the same gas. gas is gas. sure they might throw some additives in there but there isnt really any difference.

I use BP because that is the only place in my area that carries 92 octane premium. Every one else is 91 octane for the same price and eventhough one octane doesn't make any difference I still only fill up at BP. There have been several people on this board who work in the industry that swear BP gold is refined at higher standards than other brands too.

I would have to say gas is NOT gas like someone posted on here. There are stations shut down all the time for advertising premium gas for cheaper than anywhere else, and it turns out to be less octane then regular (89). I heard it on the news the other day, so you have to be careful where you get gas. If that dude said he works at an engineering plant I would trust him (BP). I believe AMMACO and BP are the same, BP kinda took them over depending where you live. Where I live in NJ I usually get either Sunoco or Riggins. But here in Maryland I just get gas on the air force base I live on since its cheaper for us military folk then going outside base and paying a lot more. Max runs good either way.

I knew a guy who used to do oil tests with motors running full speed on different oils and see what would last longer and he swares by mobil one, and that is all he uses. So I guess people that work around the stuff know what they are talking about.
