Couple of Questions
Ok question number one: I have a oil leak that i can see oil driping off of the oil pan. I thought that it was the oil pan gasket but i replaced that and its still leaking. It really only does it after it builds up presure. Most of my engine is clean and i cant see anywhere else where its coming from. Anyone know what it could be?
Now question number 2: My timing chain is rattleing when i first start it in the mornings and it doesnt stop til it gets warmed up. I was reading on other threads and most people say its the tensionor or something like that. Well i called around to the local mechanics and they said that it would probally need a new chain, guide, and tensionor and would cost around 1,000. I was wondering about how long you could drive it with it rattleing like that, or is it bad to drive it like that? Let me know...thanks

1. Most likely its just the oil pressure sending unit leaking. Its a 10 dollar part and with the correct tool, takes 5 minutes to replcae.
2. The rattle is indeed caused by a weak tensioner. If you are handy, you can replace the tensioner on your own through the access panel. This is not a trivial repair - so only attempt it if you have the skill. What weight and brand of oil are you using?

It's located right near the oil filter - you'll see a harness plugging into it. It screws into the oil pan.
You might want to clean all that area up with some solvent (brake cleaner or something) and then you'll be able to see where the oil is leaking from better.. but that is likely the problem. Check the stickies for more information.
