Heated seat question from 3rd gen owner

I'm putting 4th gen power heated seats in my 3rd gen car - mainly for the good leather and heat (my leather was shot and I'm in Canada so heat is nice...).
After wiring up the heat I noticed that the back is clearly working, but I honestly can't tell if the seat cushion element is working?
So I was hopping that someone that's familiar with these seats could tell me if the seat cushion heater gets really hot....., or if it's pretty weak? I know on newer cars you can cook yourself with the heated seats. These seats don't seem to do that tho?
I just wanna make sure I'm not missing something b4 doing all the finished wiring.

By the way - I don't have a cigarette lighter in my car anymore, so I the power and ground through that circuit and ran the power into the white wire, ground to black, and joined the other 2 grey wires with corresponding colored stripes together. So I have one power wire (white), one ground (black), one for 'Lo', and one for 'Hi'.
My wiring makes sense to me, but the heater output still seems weak.

I know the seats take a LONG (like more than 5 minutes) time to get really toasty.. so perhaps you didn't wait long enough...

yea i know the heated seats really are wierd, i remember when i first got the car and turned them on to test them out. Figuring it would be like my dads lincoln that heats them within the min to where its too hot to sit, it didnt happen. Took at least 5 min and i could only feel the back part as being on but eventually after a long while youll see that the butt part most likley does work

I waited a long time but I was sitting in my unheated garage last night doing it - so that likely didn't help.
Ok, thanks for the responses guys - I'm pretty sure it's just the design of the seats now and not the wiring. That's exactly what I needed to know. Thx!
