A new, and very sexy addition!!!

EDIT: PICTURES UPDATED!!!
Heh...
All you guys probably thought I was talking about some hot girl or something.....
Sorry to get your hopes up...

I got new (to me) Enkei Bortex's today ( 17X8 front 17X9 rear).
They're wrapped with 235 Fuzion ZRi's (front) and 255's(rear).
www.cardomain.com/id/blackmaxx96 (cardomain is bein ghey again, I think)
http://photobucket.com/albums/v643/MichaelFuller/stuff/

Everything is really dirty, and the rims have a ton of brake dust on them... But I couldn't wait to post pics of the new rims!

EDIT: I added some night shots I took tonight...

The seats are for sale .
And the new rims arent the Tenzo's with the red line...
They're the mesh style Enkies.

Thanks for the comments guys!

Hey Mike!
I'll be listening for your call... Are you finally 5 speed swapped now???
255's on the rear because:
1. it'll look stupid with wider tires in the front.
2. 255's won't clear up front... way too many rubbing issues.

The seats are 3A racing seats....they werent hard at all.

Those wheels are ok looking, but nothing special. BTW, you got the wrong size in the rear. 255/40/17 is too short, smaller diameter than stock. Also, 255 is not "huge", and it would fit up front if you got the right offset wheels. I have put on wider wheels in the back, and the Top Element guys use 265 and 275's in the rear.

The wheels/tires arent new.
I traded the rims/tires that were on my car for these...and got an incredible deal.
Also, going from 225's to 255's is a big difference for me.
When it comes time to get new tires, i'll be putting 245's in the front and possibly 265's in the rear.

Also, the tires are only .2" smaller than OE....going to 255/45-17 would make the overall diameter 26".... that's .8" larger than stock.
I would rather be .2" shorter, than .8" taller.
So it looks like this is the correct size afterall.

Blackmaxx, I'm also in Raleigh. What's going on at VIR this weekend? I've raced there as well as instructed for Tarheel, BMW and Alfa Club. Would be nice to meet another Max owner who likes to turn left AND right....If you feel like it, send me a PM and I'll send you contact info...
You also have the suspension combo I'm thinking of getting. Would like to maybe get a ride in your car to see how it feels....

i'm currently looking on ebay. how are the seats compare to stock seats? are the seats hard with lack of cushions? are the seats comfortable? the picture shows it has lateral support, does it? do you recommend other ebay seats? your opinion is greatly appreciated.

I haven't had any other seats... so I can't compare them to anything..
I've sat in the stock evo's and STI's seats... they are definitely better... but cost about 800 more.....
They are VERY comfortable, and very cushoned... The pictures show what it has.... don't know how it could be different?......
I personally like them alot, I just really need some money, and I really can't have these sitting around like this.....

I am also an ex RX-7 owner, I still sometimes kick myself for not keeping it around.
For racing the max though I think if you can fit them I would switch the rims and have the 17X9's in the front.
If you read the latest Car and Driver with the GXP review in it, it goes into a little depth on how they controlled torque steet and I think they came up with exactly the same setup as you, just the bigger rims were on the front. They also discussed how tires make a big difference in torque steer as well.

I had a 1st gen, and I would get another one if I could. Maybe if I hit the lottery or something I would even put a 20b in it, full turbo, THAT would be a blast.
Mine ran great, I had the motor from age 16-25 (3 bodies), but at the point I got rid of it (for practically nothing) I was so sick of unreliable a/c, no backseat and no trunk, that I didnt' care. I still would've got the max but I should have kept it around.
