97 SE 5 speed original motor and tranny 247,930 as of this AM
Need to replace front/back brakes & rotors, as well as all suspension parts ... any ideas of parts need to be used and what price range for all this work ... Guys please help
118,222 original runs great had it for 5 years bought it with 72,000 live in los angeles ca drove to atlanta and back no problems love my max......www..cardomain.com/1badmax97
347,xxx... 347,064 to be exact... one week from today will be the two year anniversary of purchasing it at 307K. Since then, all I've had to replace are 2 o2 sensors (the norm), replace the original rear struts, a $30 used tire (Goodyear Eagle!! Good deal), and lube the EVAP canister vent control valve. Oh and a new shift boot (the old one had essentially rotted away) and shift knob (beyond "smoothed by the hands of time"... more like worn down to the nub).
A little rust behind the right-rear wheel, and some rust spots are developing on the roof between the sunroof and windshield, but nothing too major yet...
I just did my safety inspection but she failed...needs new front brakes (no biggie) and a completely new exhaust (original is the definition of "rusting to pieces"). Gonna go get to work here soon.
Still runs like a champ though. Did 130 mph about a year ago only 3 miles after it hit 330,000. Hopefully many more miles to come!!
Sweet! another 300k+ maxima...are we the only ones at the moment? (on the forum at least?)

Don't have a 4th gen anymore I have a 5.5 Gen. But when I sold my 98 Se 5 speed it had 159k. Basic bolt on's (I/H/E). Sold it for 5400. The kids I sold it to called me a month later and blew the motor. He was traveling 90 mph and shifted into 2nd instead of 4th. My heart broke. That car was perfect in and out...... These motors will go forever...

not hardly...304,636 miles on my 99 SE-L as i post this. orig engine, orig tranny. would like to believe i got the top-spot for SE-L's in terms of mileage, but who knows.
car has had a few things done to it (repairs & see sig), but again, orig engine & orig tranny. no major work has ever been done on either.

Update, I now have 313k+ on my 95 GXE-5 however I just got the trans rebuilt this past Monday by Mr BlackbirdVQ himself so that brings me down to about 200 miles on the tranny and 313k+ on everything else

Did you buy it new used? or are you a sunday driver? Just kidding congrats on being so low-millaged ... That gives me an idea, we should start a 4th gen thread ... "Lowest miles on a 4th Gen." I really wonder who here has the lowest miles on their ride. ...
To columbianmax. 313k that is great, hope to see her at 500k. btw anyone know what the highetst (any generation) millage maxima? I would have to assume at least 400k? Anyone with proof?
I've had it since '06 with about 160k. Worst part is my ex was driving it while it turned over the 200k. She considered it nbd while I was devastated that I missed the achievement of my white pony.
Its my first car and I plan to keep for the next 100k. Also, I've been having a few problems but ill search before I rant. Good to be here.
(Please don't mind the color posting, I do it on every forum I post on)
