Another set of calipers bite the big one

Rear calipers froze again tonight. Smelled and smoked like my buttocks were on fire. Smelled kinda good though. These calipers are 6 months old.

If my car was an ambulance, everyone would die.

I paid $130 for a pair of loaded lifetime calipers. From Autozone. They're covered. Just a PITA to go there and stuff.

Yea. . . but better to just be a PITA than an expensive PITA.

PAREDLINE -the loaded lifetime - does that include new pads if the caliper goes bad too?

Not to state the obvious, because you are obviosuly competent, but did you make sure you don't have parking brake cables that are binding?

No the parking brakes arent binding. But good thought. You can get any caliper from autozone. Even 300ZX. I think they have two loaded front calipers for $199.

you asked if they come with pads... do not use any autozone pads!

when I first got my max I did the front brakes with new rotors/autozone pads. I even bought the best they carried, which was like $30 to my amazement. I found out why the next day when I was on my way to the dealership pleading for some stock pads to stop this awful metal on metal screeching that the POS autozone pads provide to your ride...

Glad the cables are fine... they are simple to change in theory, but I had a heck of a time with the heat shields.. all the bolts kept shearing... what a mess.

So both rears seized at the same time huh... that blows... at least they are warranteed - but having to do the job again sucks.
