Initial driving impression of my "new" Maxima...

After a few failed attempts at finding a deal on some used suspension parts, my 95 Maxima is now sporting a new suspension setup. My initial impression of my purple Intrax springs and orange KYB AGX shocks is "sweet"! I've been slowly adding bits and pieces to my daily driver and this latest addition totally changed my car's handling. The handling changes from the FSTB or RSB pales in comparision. The car definitely lets me feel the road; every crack, bump, pothole and crater. No more of the floaty feeling from the stock shocks and springs. One minor complaint is that Intrax is still claiming a 1.7" drop in the front and 1.6" drop in the rear, but my results varied a little more than what I expected. I was very careful to use 2 methods to measure: from the ground to the highest point on the wheel well arches and from the top surface of the tires to the highest point on the wheel well arch. My results: 2.0" drop in the front and 1.25" drop in the rear. Anyway, my car stereo is OEM. Figuring that a full stereo upgrade would easily add 100 pounds in the rear, the drop in the rear might be closer to Intrax's claim.

Coincidentally, I have a friend who dropped his car using Tokico Illumina shocks and Tokico springs; he ended up with about the same 2.0" drop in the front and about 1.5" drop in the rear on his Honda Accord. With this in mind, I'll give it a few weeks/months to let the springs settle and then measure it again.

Enjoy the "new" ride. I also have Intrax springs. Post pics of the drop if you can.

Parked in driveway

From a slightly different angle

Front wheel well

Rear wheel well

I'd look in the For Sale forum. I've seen Intrax sell pretty cheap there.

Are you sure you did it right? It looks pretty high up for Intrax.

I was hoping somebody else can share their experience with Intrax springs. Anyone?
