I have H&R springs and newly installed factory struts. Love the look and love the ride! I also have Stillen Camber plates. One of the things I really want to correct the the massive amount of negative camber that my car has had in the past. I'd only get 10k miles on a set of tires, 'cause the front of the car would tear the up so quickly.

I've taken as much camber out of the front as I can with the plates, and I can still visually see that there is too much negative camber. I haven't had an alignment done yet, but there isn't any other adjustment.

Is this normal with H&R springs? Other options? I shouldn't _need_ both camber plates and bolts, should I?

the tires being eaten so quickly is the toe in the alignment..

..that's the first thing I would consider fixing.. the stock suspension isn't designed to be used with firmer, shorter springs.

yea, agreed with gabex... dont use stock springs with aftermarket shocks or vice versa. and an alingment prolly wont hurt...

I put on tokico's spring shock set (HPK245) on my maxima. I also bought the eibach camber bolts. My car was lowered about 1.5" and my camber is Left -.8 and right is -.6 specs call for .4 to .8 on negative camber.

Make sure the f**ken mechanic tightens up the jam nut on the tie-rod end. I also would suggest replacing the strut mount bearings.

the other guy is right, my toe in was really off like 3°

Agreed - align that toe. I'm running -2.5" camber on the street and it's not wearing the tires nearly as much as the +1/4" total toe out is.

Absolutely correct!

When you lower a Maxima the toe, which should be slightly inwards goes way outward. It's not a camber issue thats causing your tires to ware out, it's the front toe. Have the car aligned, tell the tech what degree camber you'd like to run with so he can set up your camber plates.
