Who here bought their 4th gen BRAND NEW??
Just wondering, but how many of you actually had your 4th gen with 20 or so miles on it? Getting mine at 114k, I'm kinda hoping that it has seen better days...

I got mine on October 1, 1994 with 36 miles on it. I ordered it in late June, it arrived at the end of September and it took an extra day for the autobroker to get the Diamond coat, rustproofing and leather protection package that I asked for. He put a few miles on the car bringing it from the dealer, to the detailer and over to his office where I picked it up. Cost Cdn$35,000 including $400 for the protection packages.

Yeah, I can't remember what the exchange rate was back then, but the US$ was strong and Nissan was delivering cars into the US first and Canada whenever because they made more money that way.
I wanted to take the car on a trip I had planned in early September. The car was supposed to be here by August 31st and came a month later.
I needed a bigger car for my trip than what I had at the time as I had visitors from Ireland. I ended up using my sisters 1979 Cadillac Coupe de Ville, lol1.
It was like driving down the highway on a big couch.

Well you can say i knew about the car since it was brand new.. One my pops friend had it first, then he sold it to my Aunt.. and well then my aunt wanted a Clk, so then i got it from her. And they both took good care of it, im just the only one who modde'd it up, so it looks much better now

Anyway, I got my 98 SE 5-spd brand-new. I thought I robbed the dealer when I went into the holdback ($700 + $2500 = 3200 below invoice), but the poor resale value made the joke on me! Still, if I squeeze the car for another year what I lost is negligible and I know back in 1998 I really didn't have the coyne for anything better. I paid high 22's and the list was 29.4k. Can you imagine? 29.4k for a 98 SE???????????

My 95SE is a loaded, 5-speed. I used to apply the Diamond coat and leather protector twice a year for the first 5 years I owned the car, but got lazy. I get it professionally detailed once a year. The car is not a daily driver. The rear seats and carpet look virtually new. I still have the original spark plugs in the car as well as the OEM Gooyear Eagle RSA tires.
I have 94,364 mostly highway kilometres on the car (58,638 miles) and it looks and runs like new. The car is worth more to me than to anyone else and may outlive me, lol!
The car isn't modded other than FSTB, K&N filter and stainless steel Budget y-pipe. I need new tires in 5 or 6K and will then likely get an RSB.
So the crappy Goodyear Eagle RSA tires everyone flames will last almost 65K miles.

My RS-A came off the car at about 54k and had plenty of tread left, only thing was after being on the car for 4 1/2 years there was extensive sidewall cracking, so it wasn't worth pushing them even further. Decided to +2'it to the Sumitomo HTR+ 235/40-18, which lasted a dismal 35k (I'm talking treadwear bars showing) and they were all-seasons....now it's Ecsta to the rescue!
