Great pics. What other bulbs are your running?

When people flash their hi-beams at you, there usually telling you your high beams are on. You probably will get pulled over with glare like that, I hope not but look out.

when i had HIDs, even though i aimed it down as low as possible, it still glared a crap load, and oncoming drivers would always flash me, i made a custom shield and put it under the bulb, the cut-off remained similar, but cut down the glare a lot, since most of the glare comes from the bottom of the housing (light is reflected up), after putting in the shield, no one flashed me ever...i have since sold my HIDs to a fellow org member a while back..now im waiting to buy the cefiro headlights and putting in some hi/lo HIDs..

The glare IS horrable IN PERSON, thats why your getting flashed. The 9004 housing is the absolute worst housing to put a standard HID bulb in. The light goes everywhere and causes serious glare issues to on comming traffic.

Your lights look good, but they are very annoying to other drivers.

It's because the housing for the OEM Maxima lights weren't made for HID, thus they reflect all over the place and blind oncoming traffic, hence why it is 'illegal' for cars that didn't come with HID's to run HID's in many places.

Looking at your car however, there are also too many lights running at the same time. Personally, i'd undo the mod that makes your turning signals come on whenever you turn on the lights, then probably take out the orange rewired corner light and probably the sidemarker bulb as well. It might make it a little less obvious and ricey looking. I recall reading on some GTP S/C forums as well with people getting ticketed for too many running lights on the front of their cars. I think the law in some states might've been 6, your car right now has 10.

How many seconds is your exposure set to? A bic lighter would look like the sun if you took its pic with that camera.

Still not surprised you get flashed though. +1

Nice! You got some very cool shots there. I need to get brighter headlights with all the highway driving I do, considering I'm gonna have to work overnights and 6am shifts now. I wonder if painting the top/bottom part of the reflector would help at all with the glare?? Was it an expensive mod?

thats why you make a custom one from scratch, i made one from a 2 inch long copper tube which i cut in half, painted it with black hi temp paint and JB welded it to the base of the HID bulb, and VOILA....HID glare shield which work really well...cuts down about 75-80% of the glare, and since then NEVER got flashed again...NEVER....

heres a pic of my car with the HIDs....you can notice, the beam is cut-off on the bottom of the housing....dont mind the spots, i didnt wash my car for 2 weeks that time..

here are 2 pics of the bulb with the shield
