Whats the deal on stalling?

Whats the deal on stalling?
Ok, I remember seeing threads about it awhile back, but I never had any reason to pay attention to it. I was leaving our local breakfast joint yesterday and on three tries, the max went down to about 500 rpms, vibrated crazy, and stalled. On the 4th try, I held it at 3000, took a chance at driving it, and it was fine.
Any ideas? Thanks guys.

use seafoam to do the following: throttle body and manifold flush, crank case flush, and injector flush. i seafoam my car bi-weekly, it's been kept up nice and clean, 140k miles and still running strong.
if you need help with seafoams, let me know. i've helped out many people on the org with it. many have find my directions correct and helpful to their problems.
now, if flushing up your car doesn't help with the problems at all, i'm suspecting you to have other problems, one being very possibly the knock sensor. my family has 6 4th gen maxima's now, and 1 of them has this problem very similar to yours. seafoam flushes doesn't do squat, but knock sensor replacement solved the whole trick.
good luck

jackiss2888 you are describing the EXACT symptoms I just had with my Max, now I did a throttle body cleaning 2 weeks before the problem started, so although it didn’t hurt it was not the problem. What did work was to Clean the IACV, its not hard @ all, took me under 30min, and my start is 100% now, in fact to quadruple check I just did a cold start and it was smooth.
In the “how to” section for 4th gens there is a guide on cleaning it 'How to clean IAC valve'.
I had this pic from another post, mite as well use it again, here is where the IACV is located:
Good luck

Don't you think bi-weekly usage of Seafoam is a little much? It strikes me as an extreme case of overkill and may cause more damage than good in the long haul.
What would possess you to use that stuff that often? I've heard of **** .orgers but you may take the prize that I bestowed on someone else yesterday.
Hopefully you don't have OCD!

thanks guys. Just for soem background, I am the SeaFoam master and use it ususally 1-2 ever 2 months. I think over use of it, like every other week, is a little much, however I do use it. Also, on the IAVC valvce, this is defintely different than the PCV valve, right? The reason I ask is because I have never heard of the IAVC. Thanks again.

Its the IACV (idle air control valve), which is different than the PCV valve.
Other thoughts:
1. When was the last time you replaced the fuel filter and spark plugs?
2. Is the base idle speed correct?
3. Have you ever used any fuel additives that remove moisture from the gas tank?
4. Other reasons for engine stalling according to Haynes: faulty emissions control components; vacuum leak in the fuel injection system, intake manifold or vacuum hoses.

murdoch,
i flush my throttle and manifild every two weeks to ensure top performance of my baby. now, i don't put more than 1/2 bottle each time i do it. even called seafoam company and confirmed that this is actually going to help the car in the long run. then i do the injectors and crank case flush every time i change oil. so overall, i don't think i'm over doing my seafoaming at all. besides, i redline my car just about everyday. i better have a car that doesn' bog.
jackiss, like mitch said, your tps can also be the cause of this problem. but i would still clean up the throttle body and iacv before anthing. then look at the tps.
