WSP Y pipe with stock catback sound
Does anybody have this set-up? Is it quiet, does it sound crappy? I have a wsp y, dynomax s turbo, with 2.5 b pipe with resonator and it is pretty loud and droney, i want it to be quiet again(family car), will stock catback quieten things up? Anybody heard this set up before?

I was in the same position as you, i was constantly changing exhausts to change to sound but after all that I am back to my stock muffler. I have a WS y-pipe as well and as far as the sound goes, it is no louder than the stock set-up.

I need to replace my B and Muffler (getting some nasty rust). I've been told that a Greddy SP2 or similar catback system might be a good replacement, but I'm concerned about the noise. I'll be adding a (likely Budget) Y-pipe eventually, and I definitely want to keep the car quiet... I'm thinking stock muffler (Nissan #H5000-59787), but what do I replace the B with? Hopefully some of you who have been down this path before can suggest a good Stainless Steel B-pipe, or a full catback that won't drone with a Y-pipe.. Thanks!

I have both the Budget Y and B (with Magnaflow resonator) and a straight-through Vibrant muffler on right now but after a week its time to put back on the stock muffler. The stock muffler with the two pipes is THE best setup if you want stock noise levels.

Also, will it make a big difference if i get an SP2 or just have a muffler shop bend me some pipes and put any muffler on?

ive got a video clip of exactly what u want. hold up, check back in 2 min
edit, here we go. COLD COLDDDDDDDD morning start. camera inches away from exhaust tip and the rear end is a foot away from the wall so it sounds much louder than it is.
MODS : Injen intake, warpspeed y pipe and stock catback with the car idling at 1400 rpm and going down.

this is the WSP Superflo with stock catback and HAI.
This clip was taken in heavy traffic so I kinda had to wait to get on the throttle - thats what the delay is. ( sorry - i didnt have a camera man either)

I used to have the WSP mandrel y with the standard flex section and the stock catback...the muffler puts like a go-kart cause the catback is so restrictive to the y pipe which is now flowing a lot more air...but of course I had a high flow cat on as well at the time...

If you guys want a quieter sound but still more aggressive than stock, by a higher-flowing chambered muffler such as one off of a G35 sedan or even the Altima SE-R. Granted, it won't sound like a VQ35, but it'll have more character than the stock muffler.
