Auto-Dimming Mirror Help - Wiring (1 Picture)

Hey guys, I need your help again. I got my auto-dimming mirror from a guy on the .org, but I haven't had time to install it until today. However, it turns out I know nothing of wiring.. Can anyone shed some light as to what the best path is to run these wires, and what they connect to? Thanks a million.

This one came out of an I30, pretty sure. Any information is helpful at this point. I just don't know what/where to wire it to..

the black is ground and you should be able to hook up the rest to an acc. wire and youll be fine, fuse the mirror by itself with a 3 amp fuse so you dont hurt it if something goes wrong. can you post a pic of the mirror itself? what controls does it have/is the light sensor built in? one has to be an acc. one a constant, the other i dont know

First you say to wire all three wires to the same source, then you state they all do something different. ??

I'm totally lost, besides the black (ground) wire. Is there such thing as a pink wire? These are starting to look more like pink than red. The harness pictured below came off the mirror. The mirror itself does not have a compass, but it does have a built-in light sensor, and a "Day" and "Auto" button.

Ok, I am here to save you, black goes to ground, woot, but what you didnt know is, green goes to a 12v source such as your lighter hookup, the red/blue wire goes to constant 12v source, and red/yellow wire goes to the clock for illumitation, this is were at night when you dim the rest of your lights it dims the controls on the mirror, I hope this finds you being able to install this mirror.

I trust you, but it turns out I had given you the wrong colors. I think I had said Black, Green, Red/Yellow, and Red/Blue. Turns out I was way off and I didn't want to bother you with my PMs anymore

So, once more:
  • Black - I know this one is ground.
  • Green/Blue Striped - No clue
  • Red(Pink)/Yellow Striped - No clue
  • Red(Pink)/Blue Striped - This one seems to control the dimming feature, because, according to the "clock always lit" mod, if you snip this one, the clock won't dim. Thanks for all your patience :couch:

MaD, I would try to go to the I30 forum and see if anyone can post the I30 FSM pages you need. I tried looking for an I30 FSM on line for you but I only found Maximas. Sorry.

Good luck. I looked at my auto dim mirror at home for you. Probably not what you want to hear but mine is very simple. Despite the fact that mine autodims, has a compass, has temperature display and has two map lights, it only requires a ground and a switched 12V (and two wires for the temerature sensor but that doesn't apply to you). So I am not sure what to tell you MaD. Sorry. Good luck.
