Water Pump Question
#2
should be too expensive if you are willing to do the labor yourself. Call your local nissan dealer, find out how much the part is, and then ask how much for labor. Make the decision to do the work yourself, and bingo, you are done.
And how can your body guy know that you need a new water pump? Is he offering to replace it? Sounds a bit shady IMO. Get a second estimate for sure.

Is it leaking, making noise?
Why would you listend to a body guy for engine maintenance? But it might be since you're a 95, should be 250-300 parta and labor.
Get the part at pinncale nissan.

look in the faq its posted what to do
its a pretty complicated thing to do it right.
if you do it yourself just remember to remove the oil pan and get ALL the water out of it before you put fresh oil in it,if you take it somewhere ask them if they remove the oil pan.
i just did the cam chain, a guide that was broken, the water pump and the updated slack tensioner and guide.to get the timing cover off you had to remove the oil pan for the bottom two bolts on the timing cover .i drained the oil pan and removed it. still had a quart of oil in it and all the water from the pump.
doesnt need a gasket just silicones back on with 10 mm bolts a very easy thing to do.this also allows you to remove the solids at the bottom of the pan and that one quart of oil that never has been replaced.
