transmission question

Ok, so I found a trans to replace my failed trans. 97 I30 locking diff. 69K with 90 day warrenty for $700 shipped. Is this a good deal or should I continue looking?

Also, this should be a direct swap for my 97 Max SE, right?

thanks

you can always look, but if that one is in your price range, why not get it?
it has a 90 day warranty too and it a ,limited slip sounds like a pretty good find.
if you dont take it someone else on the org will.

Well, i talked to my cousin(a mechanic) and he said it was a great deal. I purchased it today and I expect it about mid next week.

I think I am going to get a new clutch while I have everything apart. Ebay Exedy clutch, since I don't plan on doing any more modding.

You will need different CV shafts I think.

I thought I needed different shafts if it did not have ABS. My max has ABS and I am assuming that the I30 would have ABS. I am sure that I would need different shafts if it was a 5th gen trans swap, but that does not apply here.

I think the shafts are different between an LSD and open diff tranny.

the cv shafts for a limited slip tranny and open differential are different.
the vlsd shafts are bigger from what i have been told. if you where to get a 5th gen tranny with open differential you would be able to use the same axles
