caliper question

My right rear brakes sound really bad... a grinding noise.. anyways, I took it to meineke today just to get an inspection done, and he said I need to rear calipers because they are sticking... now the left side looked fine, rotor, brake pad, and it doesnt make any noise.. but the right one sticks really bad, and thats the one that grinds... My old maxima had this same problem, just not as bad, and I had some guy adjust the brakes and put new pads on and it was fine... Should I replace my right rear caliper and rotor or what??? The guy was trying to get me to do all this crap to it like resurface all the rotors, all new pads and everything, when really just the right rear is messed up...should this be an excuse to get some 300zx calipers? any input appriciated

I dont think the 300zx calipers are compatible. I had this happen so I got 2 calipers from auto zone. they were 120 for the set.

You might be able to get better deals locally. Auto zone is all we have here

usually what makes them sitck is the oring seal on the piston get old and swell not letting the caliper return.
if you will just get a caliper rebuild kit youll be fine around 20 bux
clean the piston and inside the caliper put the new oring in, slide the piston back in and walla just like new again.
now let me say be very carefull removing the piston from the caliper,do not use pliers or channel locks on the piston to remove it you DO NOT want to damage the piston.

if you relpace the brake pads i would do both sides the left and right.. if you still can use the rotor i would just resurface it.
